Snapshot Of A Stone

Loose leaf paper, containing certain facts
Parlay the cable, games of jumping jacks
Redacted for the moment, fondness blends
Wispy melting sky, containing no sin
Mirrored images, snapshot of a stone
Kissed pond, lights rip'ling merrily, a tone 
Directions skim, momentary thoughts

Truth mixed fables, regaining perfect days
Rainy day weather, so long, flotsam fades
Contract in the stages, pleasantly bow
Rainbow colors, picture shown, bodes well
Unlacing cautionary signs and rest stops
Dark sky, hopes tracing candidly, fresh pot
Misty phrases of air, listening eyes

Back by demand, abstaining desire weighs
Suspense be mellow, please accept the change
Furlough each footprint, letting the sands drift
Elastic performing arts, stages shift
And we row, row, row the boat at anchor
Hope fills the plaster silhouette decor  
Dawn unlocks morning's destiny of life

This is great,William...took me all the way back to third grade...an innocent time, a hopeful time...

I think I'm stuck with the rowing and the anchor; not a lot of hope at the moment, but I'm hanging in there.

This is lovely and the anchored boat brings to mind something from when I was young, would take an article to tell it, but the feeling of just being there is wonderful, and the title, is so expressive of the poem, not much moves, unless we make it, goodnight William, lov love you.

RE: You are correct. Greed is not a variable when it comes to the creation of art... at least, not usually. Too bad our lives are not about creating and sharing art at a non-profit pace... too bad our world is not filled with those that wish to do what they love... if they did, the world would be free.

I, too, was struck by the idea of rowing a boat at anchor. Very creative concept. I've certainly felt that way. I guess it would keep our strength up as you would need to be strong to do that. I like the hopeful closing line.
