We just got news that my father in law has a brain tumor. It was nonexistent in December when he had his last brain scan (minor stroke) but now it's large, deep and difficult to reach... no word yet on whether it's malignant.
He's 89 years old, and has no known spiritual beliefs which is worrying his daughter (my sister in law) half to death.
He has not been told yet... I believe they want to wait until all tests are complete so he will remain calm for all of them.
Their plans are to bring in nurses to care for him at home and my sister in law is planning to take a leave of absence to help with his care. They are many miles North of us and my husband has just been informed that he may not take a vacation for the next month or more - due to training for the new printing presses.
His life expectancy, should they not be able to shrink or eliminate the tumor, is not very long... they don't expect him to last through the summer.
