Atlanta Botanical Garden - Gorgeous Meets Glass Exhibit (Photo Essay)

Kat W and I went to the Atlanta Botanical Garden today. Eventhough the weather wasn't ideal, at least it wasn't raining. Part of the main reason I had wanted to visit the gardens soon was that the Gorgeous Meets Glass Exhibit leaves on April 5th, and I wanted to see it before it was too late.

This is a photo essay of the glassworks I saw and photogrpahed earlier today.

Exhibit Summary:
Hello gorgeous! Divas of the plant world may have met their match. Watch the relationship between glamorous orchids and contemporary art glass ignite February 7 - April 5 in the world renowned Fuqua Orchid Center and Fuqua Conservatory.

Experience the beauty and fragrance of exquisite orchids paired with sparkling abstract art glass. Displayed among the sea of blooms is an exhibition of art glass staged in collaboration with Vespermann - Cooper Galleries. Selected by Guest Curator Seranda Vespermann, the 11 artists in the exhibition display tremendously varied styles and employ several different glass working techniques.

I tried to take photos of the entire piece of art, and then also macro shots of a section of each artwork in order to allow you to see some of the finer details that get lost in the entire piece images. In some of the displays, it was too difficult to shoot the entire scene.

The exhibit was supposed to have 50 different glassworks. I'd say I only saw about 40 at most, but it was well worth the trip regardless.

Hope you enjoyed the photo tour from my visit. I'm really glad I got to view these amazing pieces of art.

LOL, I think you saw more glass then I did. I as caught up in looking at the flowers and for the frogs in the orchid house.

I think it was your photos from other years visiting the glass exhibit at your Botanical Gardens that made me go see ours this year. I was really disappointed in ours. There was no WOW to it. It had a few pretty nice pieces but most looked like something you might see in a Stained Glass shop. Someday I would like to be WOWED at a show like this so I will have to keep looking. i may have to go to Toronto or Montreal to do so.

The exhibit I visited last year was Kenetic Art, Diva. This is the first glass exhibit I have seen anywhere.
