Our local TV station has been running a lot of ads lately for the need to update the Power lines in the Us. I noticed that they had a web address at the bottom of the screen. Today I checked this site out. It was very interesting.
The name of the site is Pathtransmission. It concerns The Potomac-Appalachian Transmission Highline (PATH) is a joint venture of American Electric Power (AEP) and Allegheny Energy to build a new high-voltage interstate transmission line.
This site provides information about the proposed transmission line, which is designed to ensure reliability of the regional transmission system for years to come.
Energy experts know the importance of reliable power. Our nation's power grid system is at risk. Five years ago, the blackout in the northeast was a warning. Before it was over, nearly 40 million Americans were affected and as much as $8.2 billion were lost.
According to the DVD on the site, if there is a major power outage in Mississippi or Georgia all the power grids will be rerouted in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. This will cause power outages in the Northeast.
It also says that each summer we get closer and closer to the limit on the grid. If the power goes off then we cannot even get prescriptions filled because their computers will not work.

That is so true. I bet the government will not think of that though
While we're at it, let's just eliminate emissions standards for cars, bring back DDT and dump hospital waste into the oceans.
