This post is about what wells fargo and what they did to me! First a couple of months ago I when over drawn because Thier computes not mine keeped letting my atm card to work even through my account when into the red, then they said to me you should have known; first of all it's known that it's Thier computer and not Mine! Secoundily banks don't let a card to continue to work if the money runs out! But not wells fargo they perfore to intrap people into losing there money in the form of over drafs aka OD's! That is why on the first of next month I will be looking for a new bank to use. I had plained on moving north this month and now I only have $100 to do Just that and yes I still will go even if I have to bum gas, I gave my word that I would make the move this month and I will keep me word!

You may want to start writing down your payments in a balance book - that you get with your checks if you have a checking account. That is the only way to make sure you don't go into the red.

I'm confused here - if you were overdrawn - why were you using your card? I must have missed something - let me read this again...Salud

If I'm reading this correctly, all banks do this - if you keep using your card, they'll allow payments to go through and you'll be charged an overdraft fee...how different is this from other banks? Best to write down each time you use your card and keep track of how much money you have and then when it gets low quit using your card...Salud

That my dear is this; the way I found out was After it was over drawn as in the card would not work as in no money in the account! And now they Blame me for it!

If you didn't have any money in your account, you shouldn't have kept using it. It's up to YOU to know what you have available. If you kept using it anyway, that's your fault, not theirs. Look at a bank card like a check book. You make a purchase, you write it down, and deduct the purchase from what you had available.

The bank didn't force you to keep using the card on an empty account.

Banks have OD protection to make money. They claim its a 'conveniene' to you because it still pays your charges even if you don't have money, but they charge you a fee to do it. I know because I used to work at a bank.

Bottom line though is you are responsible for keeping up with your own balance.

Our bank does this as well. They also run the larger debits through first each day so that if there is an overdraft it will be on several of the smaller ones instead of the one one larger. They they get more in Over draft fees.

Double check to verify that the bank did not make an error. Once I used my debit card for a $10.00 copay at the Dr. The bank took it out of my account as $100.00
It was the banks fault and they refunded all my overdraft fees.

No mater who's the blame the Fact remains the same, I will be Moving on Very little to no money and I will have to Yet once again Break me Promise that I made as to not Bum any more money. That is why I Belive that Bartering is better!

bank of america will not let you use your debt card if you don,t have the funds to cover it which is a very good thing

I have to agree with the bank on this one. It is your responsibility to keep track of the money in your account not theirs.

Capital one lets you keep using the card, and then racks up the fees. It is your responsibility to keep track of your money. They have one goal in mind, to make money, they are a business.
