One of the absolute delights of my visit to Australia was a quick hop up to Queensland to meet Gather's notorious Carolyn Madden. For a week now I've been wanting to get an essay up about the marvelous time I had with her but life keeps intruding (the nerve of it!). So, as a consolation to myself, I will start to slowly dole out a few photos until I have a chance to do her the justice that is due.
I learned that we all have cause to be incredibly envious of her surroundings. After all, this is her local city swimming pool. They call it "The Lagoon". Rough living, ain't it?

Hugs and blessings - S.
Faith - I have a feeling it does get quite crowded when school is out - but certainly it is a spot I would frequent during the quieter times :)
Tory - yes, I certainly wouldn't mind being back there.
Nana - they really did a great job of creating a pleasing setting.
Oh Duckie - you should! Heck, if I heard you were heading that way I might even try to time a visit back to intersect with you :)
flit - the Aussies are known for having a pretty laid back attitude towards life.
Roy - I do enjoy the seasons as well but the older I get the more I lean towards the warmer seasons -- and I'm sure Carolyn could come by again and educate us on the fact they do have seasons there and what they are...
Dannielle - I know - such a hardship!
jessie - yes - she had me laughing through the entire visit - however that would have had to be a mighty expensive phone call to result in Deb's arrival in Australia
Mona - yes, I agree :)
Wil - absolutely - do it!
Thanks Sveta.
bob - it's a trip definitely worth taking though I could never openly advocate the robbing of banks --- now if you want to talk privately.....
Marianne - that is definitely the plan.
Jan - spending time with Carolyn was absolutely a treat :)
Carolyn - truly, I was impressed at how those Pool Boys clamored to be of assistance to you!
Vicky - yes, "roughing it" is the way to go - absolutely.
Donna - I have a carry-on that would be the perfect size for a frog :)
Mariana - it's funny how I keep ending up in places where there are Gatherites to meet - maybe your neighborhood will be the next stop :)
Deb - this I know.
A visit to Redcliffe is not complete without visiting the artificial lagoon and amphitheatre at Settlement Cove. Built in 1993, Settlement Cove is a popular place for families and young people who enjoy the shaded barbecue areas, playground and patrolled seawater lagoon. Apart from the lagoon, there are plenty of bike tracks and a basketball court to keep the whole family happy.
Settlement Cove overlooks Moreton Bay and is near many shops, cafes and restaurants. Make sure you also check out the nearby Redcliffe Jetty.
One day, Carolyn, my friend, I must check out this beautiful scene for myself ... while you bend bananas and I sip a banana smoothie.
If we all went there...just think we could ALL play basketball, do a little biking (and not on motorcycles) and then do several laps in the pool. We could really shed some light here!
Tonia:
Thanks for doing the research. Sounds like this lagoon is right up my alley. Does anyone know of any banks that still have funds hanging around?
