That's not unusual. There was a town in Texas that outlawed homelessness. If they found anyone homeless living there, the cops picked them up and took them out into the county and dropped them off.

I don't blame you. The LAPD has no rights to pick on the homeless. The homeless isn't doing anything wrong. They should put their feet in the homelesses shoes and see how it feels.

It may not be unusual, but it is, wrong. Do they think sweeping homelessness under the rug (out of sight, out of mind) makes the world a better place?This behaviour, of hiding the homeless in order to create the illusion of a greater prosperity in the land than their really is, is a great disservice to our dociety, as a whole.

We become even less civilized, when we uphold a standard that fosters homelessness, and even more so when we seek to disguise it.

We all do well to ask forgiveness for the hardness of our hearts, and humble ourselves, for it is their, but for the grace of God, go we all.

We forget that once such a road, as homelessness is created, it becomes possable for each of us, to end up on that same road.

That's only one thing that they do, another is the pigs ( cops aka the police) do sweeps and round up all they can find and dump them off at the state line!

Those people you call "Pigs" are the ones that protect you. Just because they are doing their job, does not make them bad. Some people choose to be homeless and do not mind being homeless. I know this because many of my clients are homeless. Some of them don't mind it.

No flaming please.........Some panhandlers make 200-300 per day. We should have compassion for the homeless. But some people do this as a very profitable "job".

Where I live I see Homeless people around and it's sad. They don't have anywhere to go. My heart goes out to them.

Sarah's attitude is shared by many people. Enough to get those laws passed. What that attitude fails to take into consideration is that most homeless are children, mentally/emotional unwell folks, or those down on their luck. I have never met a homeless person who wants to be homeless although some have (like Sarah and other crisis workers). However, I think that when society allows homelessness and then criminalizes it, there is something seriously wrong. I heard in Santa Barbara they didn't want to look bad for harrassing the homeless so they passed a law that made it illegal to cover up with a blanket outdoors from the hours of 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. (or something like that). The thing is, it's the people who have never really known hardship that make these laws. Sad, isn't it?

Where's the humanity people, you are supposed to treat all as you would want to be treated. It is not fair to assume that people are making a living from it...even if you suspect, you should still treat the person better than to sweep them under a rug!

Nobody in Detroit, or anywhere where it gets to several degress below freezing in winter, "chooses" to be homeless. Not without some mental disorder. These are the people these are some of the people who need our help the most, especially now.
