It was great to hear this poem read by Sylvia, especially after having her memory conjured up by the recent suicide of her child. Her ´aura´ (as Walter Benjamin put it, referring to originals versus copies--Ezra Pound in reference to authors makes the distinction between innovators and imitators) is stronger than ever. Jennifer, many thanks for facilitating this experience that gave me frissons of eerie delight.

I discovered her writings at the age of 11. She captured, captivated, and her Lady Lazarus totally shifted my perception and began the flame inside my future strut =)
Thank you for sharing this, Jennifer. I am a huge fan of Sylvia Plath's poetry. I find it to be intriguing, beautiful and dark. Her poetry is definitely not the kind you can read one time and walk away knowing what she is trying to say. It is meant to be studied. I would love to take a class somewhere...just reading and studying her work. I think it would be fascinating. She lived such a tortured life.
