Easter Lilies Toxic To Cats

With Easter approaching I just wanted to post a reminder to cat owners about the Toxic effect of lilies on cats, which can be life threatening.

Here is quote from an article from Peteducation.com

Easter lilies and other lilies can be toxic to cats, causing kidney failure and death. All parts of the lily can be toxic, and eating just one leaf can result in severe poisoning. After eating a portion of an Easter lily, a cat will generally vomit and become depressed within 2 hours. The vomiting may subside, but the cat will not eat and continue to become more depressed.

I did not know this. But, I don't think any of the cats I used to own showed any interest in eating Easter lillies.

There are all sorts of plants that are toxic to animals. Check it out before buying any new plants.

If you have cats, PLEASE check out the lower link. There are many popular houseplants that are lethal, such as Mother In-Law's Tongue. RIP Winky :(

You DON'T want to have explain to your kids how the family pet passed...
