The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis. Dante Alighieri
No, you did not read the title wrong. Most people don’t know that the Federal Government only exists at the will of the people through their individual states.
With the vote of 34 states (2/3) it can be dissolved and a new one put in its place. Already 22 states (up from 9 a couple weeks ago) have legislation to declare their Sovereignty under the 10th Amendment for one reason or another, mostly because of unconstitutional federal mandates.
Why should this even be considered? Here are just a few reasons.
1. As mentioned above, federal mandates that have helped push states to the brink of bankruptcy are an obvious burden and totally illegal. The constitution clearly states that all authority not specifically stated in the in its body is directly the rights of the states, the 10th amendment.
2. By using the Interstate Commerce commission laws of the 1950’s, the federal government has entered into our lives in everything from Housing (HUD) to Education. The only purpose of Washington is to protect our borders, our freedoms, and our liberties.
3. Now Sec. Geitner wants us to accept a world currency at the destruction of the US dollar.
4. He and his cohorts have nationalized part of the banking system and want to extend that to other financial and non-financial organizations, the car industry, energy, news media, and maybe your business, hoping to actually micro-manage them. Their statements indicate they don’t want to stop until most companies “they” deem a problem could be taken over by the government.
5. Congress has gone on a spending spree that makes the binge of the last 8 years look down right pitiful. The debt can never and will never be paid off except with funny money that will destroy the value and credibility of the greenback.
6. One of Pres. Obama’s lawyers Harold Koh wants our court system to be under international law. This is a huge step to losing our sovereignty and not only destroying our systems and culture, but the repercussions would accomplish the exact opposite of their intended purpose, and if accomplished almost irreversible.
7. Since it would be impossible to impeach Pres. Obama, Speaker Pelosi, Senators Reid, Frank, Rangles and Dodd (just to name a few) at one time, dissolving the government is the only answer.
8. People have claimed past administrations were corrupt, but this is the first administration I’ve ever seem that purposefully went out of its way to bring into power so many street thugs and persons who in the outside world would probably be in jail for felonies.
9. This administration lies at every opportunity, encourages mob rule (to attack the IG families), defies the constitution, ignores laws such as established contract law, and at every move tries to destroy our national standing and sovereignty. Millions have died for this and we can’t ignore their sacrifices.
10. The very characters that bewailed the excesses of the past 2 administration are helping to bring about an absurdist Autocratic form of Fascism.
If even these few examples aren’t enough to consider disbanding, there are many more.
This did not happen just over the last 2 years but began about 1913 with the formation of the Federal Reserve System, and the fostering of national and super national corporations (more about that point in future articles). This has been in the works for generations.
If you think this reformation is impossible or has never been done, that is true only here. Latvia just recently reorganized their young government, Italy has many since WWII, and Columbia has had over 235 in the last 200 years.
These are obviously weak countries that have never gotten it right. So true, but what does that say of us. After 233 years we have come to the same end. We are rapidly becoming an autocratic potentially tyrannical fascist state.
I do not say this lightly, and I do so with a sad broken heart for our loss. The majority of the States have to declare their sovereignty and opt for a Constitutional Convention, dissolve, and reform the Federal Government. I believe this one is beyond repair. The answer is a complete return to a Constitutional Democratic Republic and a repudiation of the current leaders on both sides of the aisle.
As our citizens lose everything they worked for, and see they and their families lives destroyed, they will act. Americans are slow to anger , but when they reach that point watch out! Failure to change it all for the better could bring on a 2nd Civil War, much nastier than the first one.
With all of our faults we were the strongest, most generous, and moral country that has ever existed, and without that, we as a nation and most of the world’s citizens have no chance in hell of a future.

I suggest you read Invisible Hand or visit www.nopom.info to see how such an elimination of government could take place peacefully and without costing anyone anything.
I see people gathering in over 300 cities for the Tea Parties; guns being purchased at an incredible rate; people starting to really be unhappy with increased taxes.

Our writers of the constitution foresaw problems arising such as we have but our government will not enforce the original laws as they were written. Almost every amendment that has been tacked on to the original constitution has bitten us on the rear but we don't seem to feel that bite. Now, that bite has become badly infected and we can't find a medication to clear the results of the bite. We wallow in cotton and tape when we need a lot more than a Band-Aid to fix our ills. I think even the deep liberals are now realizing how much we have been bitten but most will not publicly acknowledge that fact. The rhetoric goes on and on to prove that we have the best "change” taking taking place that we could ever dream about. If you all believe that I know you were bitten by that bug a lot more than I realized.
We need to wake up. Bert, you may have the answer to our dilemma by each state going into action. But, in Pennsylvania, we have Ed "Tax 'em 'till they have nothing" Rendell who would not turn a finger or a word against the Obama administration. Surely many other states have some leadership that can realize that we are ALL in trouble.
Which amendments are you referring to? Is it that pesky First Amendment that prevents the religious right from making this a theocracy? Or the Fourth Amendment that prevents unlawful search and seizure? Maybe you mean the 13th Amendment that abolished slavery? Which Amendments have offended you?
And what sort of government would everyone like to see the current one replaced with? Just curious? Maybe each state will just be a sovereign entity...though what some states would do without all of their federal subsidies I don't know. I guess it would make it easier for some states to make things like interracial marriage illegal, or ban abortions and birth control, or stop funding education.
You are right and that is my point. The constitution and all of the amendments lie torn to pieces on the floors of congress and it has to stop!
However, if one reads the over 700 applications from all 50 states at www.foavc.org you will discover that 1) long before these problems came to the state they are now the states had already seen the problem and attempted to resolve them via amendments and 2) given this fact a new federal government or Constitution is unnecessary. Instead it is clear that passage of these amendment proposal will take care of the problems. FOAVC is non-partisan and we therefore do not favor or support any particular amendment proposal but the texts of these applications make it clear the states want to reign in the federal government and bring it under much more citizen and state control than exists now.
Please take time to read the applications at www.foavc.org.
In reality now the United States is really one state with interstate regions, like the North East, the South, the South West, the Mid-West, the North West and the Pacific states, that gives the country six regions, forget the states, and the primary purpose of being a state.
Can we go back to state rule, probably not, even with a constitutional convention?
The people now would never accept that I feel as too much education/emotion will be required. A bunch of lemmings we are now
The government when it is operating at the demand of the people for the people works fine for me, but when it is owned by special interests as it has been for 30 years and not getting business done - we all have a problem.
This kind of bitching and moaning through, dissolving the government ... you better hope not. Unless you want to starve in the dark with no services and have to guard your house with a gun and worry about food.
1. If in your wildest imagination you believe the Europeans and their hatred of capitalism are going to be better off than we will be, wait and see. Without the drive to better themselves without government control, they don't stand a chance. Also, watch and see in the coming months if a lot of the countries don't literal "burn" with their asinine immigration policies. The rumblings are already being felt in France & the Netherlands, and... they don't have the 2nd Amendment to defend themselves.
2. There is nothing romantic about wanting to fight fascism and defend the constitution. Obviously you don't give much credit to the average American. Actually that is the problem with the "leadership" we have right now. They know "best, when really they only know greed, narcissism, and how to pick our great grandkids pockets clean.
With or without a new government we will survive these thugs in Washington. It is just that they may drive us to Reformation.
Yes, Europe has a similar problem to US, and we are the ones on the move in terms of burning from immigration. We are starting to lose our southwest border to the mexican drug gangs. Europe is stabilizing and trying to find a reasonable way to deal with their muslim populations - we both have our challenges, but trying to tie that to socialism seems funny.
Is it fascism or socialism we have to fight. Fascism is the private ownership of the government and exercise of power through the corporations and the very rich. It is what we have way too much of in the US, and to balance out we need more socialism.
I think we are on the same side here, though...
The Europeans have had uncontrolled immigration for the past 30 years, just as our "leaders" want and they will pay for it.
They have had Socialism for decades and it does not work. I don't think that the word Capitalism is in their vocabulary, and they absolutely do not believe in a free market. Profit is the great motivator and they think it is evil, as do the power hungry Libs in the US.
If the US is schizo it is because the public has been lied to for 79 years, and the current group in DC are blatantly the worst.
Right now our government and media are trying their best to institute Fascism here in the guise of European Socialism. Americans simply are not going to take it forever.
At this point the current congress and administration have no intention of protecting our SW borders and indeed make every excuse to allow the illegals that are here to stay. They don't even want to call them illegals. They are trying to divide us to subdue us.
We can't let them do that... and citizen power is the only answer... through a free market system, not government control. There is no real problem with a little regulation, but overwhelming regulation is totally destructive.
the richest 1% are not thinking about anything but themselves, their money and power are not helping europe or the us, but they are held to account more in europe.
all the developed countries have national health care, and it works. i am tired of hearing that the us is so great as we sink lower every year ... yes we are great, we were great, but it is not just words, it is in our people and our country, and we need justice and support for people and infrastructure.
the proiblems with the us stem from the abusie of power by the very rich elite, and i am not talking about people who make a lot of money at their jobs, i am talking about our ruling class. they do not have any vision except more power for themselves, more hair of the dog that bit us.
socialism is the opposite of that, and i support it. i sttrongly support socialized medicine because over and over anything different that we or anyone else has tried for profit does not work.
you cannot have citizen power when all the wealth is locked up, controlled or exported overseas, for capitalism to work, capital must be free the markets must be free, and there needs to be a check on private power. also some government interventions.
some of the best companies in the world have been started of supported by govenments, like Samsung and Toyota, but many others. in the US we never hear about this.
I couldn't disagree more, so I guess we're not on the same page, though for a moment it sounded like it.
Time will tell.
Just 2 points:
1. If European Socialism is so great why aren't Americans running over there in droves, or any other intelligent people for that matter. As you said just the riff-raff head there.
2. Maybe Natasha Richardson would still be alive if she had her accident in the U.S. and not Canada with the great socialized medicine there that takes a year to get a needed test.
China
Cuba
Laos
North Korea
Vietnam
Unless there has been some sort of geographical shift that I'm not aware of, none of the countries listed are in Europe. Also, Canada isn't on that list.
Defining European countries as well as Canada is misleading and untrue.....and such nonsense needs to stop.
Interesting and scarey. My Dad brought Koh to my attention, so I performed a Google search where I found the following Koh quote...
"D. Supporting International Law and Institutions: Finally, respect for the rule of law should not be limited to domestic constitutional law. The next President should recall the words of our founders in the Declaration of Independence to pay "decent respect to the opinions of mankind" by supporting, not attacking, the institutions and treaties of international human rights law.35 "
Koh just might be the most dangerous and un-American U.S. Citizen walking on our sacred soil.
The European countries define their economies as National Socialism as does our media, as do their actions. That is not my doing.
I never said Canada was socialist, just their health Care and extremely high tax system and, etc. They are no where near as bad as Europe.
Actually, none of them have a "Constitution" such as we do, that defines their government and actions, so that point is moot.
I think you will find I'm not off base on any of this; but whatever it is, I don't want it here.
I am not just talking about socialistic countries either ... the whole developed world has health care for their whole populations. Our supposedly private enterprise system is a scam to suck a 25% tax off of our health care dollar so that people like Tim can feel snooty and superior if he has or thinks he has health care. Most people do not know how bad their situations really are, until they get sick, and then they cannot get anything useful done and are too ashamed embarassed and afraid to make any noise about what happened to them.
And your comment about Natasha Richardson is really uninformed opportunistic lie trying to make a point that is not there. Richardson was in a remote area and was offered emergency services that she did not feel she needed ... I think you know that. Making up a comment like that shows the disingenuity of your side of this argument. It is really sad that you do not care to solve problems but instead seek to serve and pander to the ruling class. Very sad, if it were not for people who say amen to lies maybe the majority of people at some point might start seeing the truth and demanding that something be done.
The Nastsha Richardson comment was reported by the main stream media (your socialist friends). I did not make it up.
If the Canadian Health Care system is so great why do they come to the US to get treatments that would take them months or years up there. Surely you've read of the people who died waiting for care there and in Europe.
Those are not opinions.
Do we need improvements here? You're damn right we do, but exchanging it for less doesn't make sense.
My wife is from Europe and she wouldn't go back if you paid her.
Firstly more Americans take advantage of Canada's system. Secondly, if I lived in Canada and needed something I could not get in Canada and I had the money I'd come to the US too. Just like if I was in a situation in the US where I needed something that I could not get here I would go to another country, India is rapidly becoming a medical boutique country offering top-notch medical services with measurably better results that many developed countries in certain clinics and 1/2 to 1/3 the price.
By the way, 40,000 people in the US die for lack of medical care, and another large number go broke or bankrupt paying for it when it happens at the wrong time, such as when they have lost their job, insurance, are old and retired, or other catastrophic events.
Your comments are not even opinions since they are not true, what are they ... more like stuff you have heard repeated over and over.
I am glad your wife likes the US, but you are not explaining her circumstance, history or beliefs. If she was from Eastern Europe which most women who marry Americans are, that is why they marry Americans. There are many Europeans that come to the US and do very well, and there are Americans that do very well in Europe, if you are going to make an argument.
What I see is that your side of all of these arguments always has to lie to make your point and gang up and bully people. You never deal with the facts, you always have to lie, distort, bring up irrelevant anecdotes, twist stories and numbers to try to make your points. I guess you do that because it has worked for so long, until everything falls apart and it is obvious that what you are saying doesn't make sense. Why do you have to lie to get your points across?
When I don't reference my articles (which I often do) just because you don't agree with me, you call me a liar. What does that make you?
Most of what you wrote above is utter nonsense, but it is your opinion and you are entitled to it.
By the way, both of you (of course I am patronizing you, what else can I do with people who are adults intelletually and chronologically and biologically but talk to each oher like children) might benefit from reading "The Wrethced of the Earth," Frantz Fannon. not sure if I spelled his last name right. Also, you might want to contact Ashada. She is living in Cuba, now. She can't come back! Talk is cheap, but it's better then fighting.
I didn't write about you because you made sense. Take that as a compliment.
For Bruce K., etc. None of us are right all of the time. All we can do is try our best.
Please watch you mouth. That type of language is never needed, and in case you didn't notice Bush isn't President anymore. we have a whole new set of problems, even worse.
Just curious, What about Jimmy Carter, in his capacity as ex-pres, he is treasonously cavorting with any dictator and slug he can find and knocking us every chance he gets. should he be tried for treason or simply remitted to a mental hospital. I would be happy with either. How about you? should we get a special prosecutor, or forget it to save the oval office, the role of president..
I don't like politics either, but what about family. Uncle Sam is strictly American, and he isn't so bad, and in any case there is no way to get him out of the family until he is dead. However big brother is international, and he is a pain in the ass, far worse then Uncle Sam and younger too; he is not likely to die any time soon. What are we going to do about him!
I'm in Occupied Maryland & can't wait for the Civil War II to begin. My Maryland is in desperate need to rid itself of Yankee Scum(Federal Government)!!!
