Spring cleaning? Here is a Tip that could make you some cash

Now that its April 1st a lot of us are thinking about spring cleaning . I wanted to give you a little info before you rush things to the trash or a yard sale .

I did eBay for a lot of years ,it was like my job for my last 5 years in Michigan . I wanted to let you know that before you get rid of  your old costume jewelry be sure check it for some things that make it worth more than a few bucks .I bought costume jewelry at yard sales for very little money , 25 cents to a 1.00 in most cases. I would sell it on eBay for sometimes a lot more . here is a short list of things to check for and some other info.

First we all know about 14K gold and sterling silver this is other stuff .

There are a lot of collectible name brands of jewelry some have been around a long time . some are collectible some not so much . you first want to look for names like

Trifari--sara coventry--Weiss--BAL-RON--Coro-Craft--Monet--Giovanni--Napier--Florenza-even some higher end Avon or set rhinestone Avon.

I use to specialize ins Pins because I like them and have a small collection of my own. A lot of times a signature can be written on the pin back and sometime on the sharp part on the pin itself, you really have to look close. Set Rhinestones sell nicely even if not signed though you may not get to much for them . color is good the more color the better .

 The most I ever paid for a pin was 5.00 at a yard sale and the most I ever sold one for was 275.00 . sometimes you get 10.00 for a set rhinestone pin in good condition that has a lot of color or bright color sometimes you get way more  . sometimes you have a pin that's really ugly or nothing special and its worth a fortune because its signed and collectible.

Sterling silver is a good example of jewelry that can look really bad if not cared for . I have found things so black you could not see a marking . only remove enough of the tarnish to see the mark. If you see 925 its sterling. some sterling signatures are- Lang and deco ciner - also any kind of initials . some people collect M.Ks or A.Rs . any mark on jewelry is important to note.

I am not doing eBay anymore unless its just odds and ends I have here ,I just cant get to yard sales , I don't drive and live pretty far from anything . My husband takes me once in a while but I have not found to much since I came to Florida.
