Transfering Gather Accounts

I am writing to all of the groups I've joined to let you know you may see some old stuff re-published from me. My original Gather account is no longer working, or at least I haven't been able to get into it since January due to a password problem which Gather has been unable to correct so far. Sorry if I've posted this to groups I've recently joined... the list is pretty long and it's hard for me to sort that out. This means that your group may see this post but nothing after, if I've not yet published anything that fits your group.
After waiting 3 months for help, I have decided to switch everything I want to keep to my "temporary" account (this one) and get rid of the old account instead. I will be re-publishing to this account everything from the old account that I want to transfer. This will take me some time, as I am juggling a pretty complex schedule and do not get a lot of online time right now.
Hopefully it won't take me more than a month.
I am going to start with my posts, and then do what photos I can find in my CD files. I am going to try to include existing comments with everything I publish.
Sorry if the re-publishing bothers anyone, but this is the only way I could figure out to do this so I can get back to Gathering as before.

I am so sorry Gather hasn't gotten this fixed for you yet!!!

I will recomment on everything - I love your humor, your posts, and your photos!! You are one of the best friends a person could ask for both on here and in real life where I am honored to know you as well!

I don't know how you've tried to transfer it, but emailing it to yourself might work.
I'm just trying to post it as an article. For some reason, since about 3:40 this afternoon, I can't post an article at all... it just goes to that error page.
If I keep trying, eventually it will work :P

I am sorry you are having Gather problems. It seems those glitches affect some worse people than others.
What I had to do was actually kinda complicated. I can't post if I start creating the post in Firefox, but it takes forever to select groups in Explorer, so I have to start the post in Explorer (which seems to anchor it in Gather's reality), select a group, then save as a draft. I then open in Firefox and select the rest of the groups I want, then post.
*whew*

LOL no I am just stubborn. I come from a long line... er, two long lines of stubborn people. You know, we had a great aunt who used to do jigsaw puzzles with a hammer...
I'm aware and in your position I would have kept trying too, just that they would have been a hundred different experiments to do it.

My friends husband has the same problem. Cannot get into his account. He forgot his password. It should be as simple as changing passwords. But you have to get in first.
Wow, this is some glitch! I hope it gets fixed, before you have to keep going through all this! Argh!
