It's getting late (just past midnight my time), and I think I'm heading to bed soon. Some random thoughts first-

  • Does anyone know if cats are supposed to look almost caved in after a spay?  Giaa looks horrible- her midsection is skeletal. I can't find any info online about this.
  • Kirese, Raj, and Aliex are very curious about Giaa right now. I'm guessing she's got a different scent from being at the vet, and from the ointments and stuff on her skin. They want in the bedroom, but they rough play from time to time, so we are keeping them separate for now.
  • I kept thinking the mom in Suite Life looked pregnant in the last season (caught an epi tonight). Turns out, she was.
  • The kids are thankfully asleep. They were all feisty tonight.
  • Raegan's friend wants to take her to an indoor water park next week. She's grounded, but I feel horrible saying no. She's grounded for getting a grade less than a C- on her report card. I told her she has to bring me proof of her current grades from all her teachers by Friday. They have next week off for Spring break, so it won't effect her school at all. The park is in Ohio.
  • I hit my goal for today, and my goal for the month. Here's hoping for the same in April.
  • I hit a monthly high of 406 points earned for March 31st.
  • My legs hurt- I think I need to get my knees looked at.
  • My hands are cold.
  • I should be in bed.
  • I fell off the candy bar wagon this week. I've had 3 king size candy bars. I need to get my arse back on the Wii Fit tomorrow. I also need to amp up the walking to and from school at noon and after school. The ankle weights should help.
  • Can it really be April already? Where did the first quarter of the year go?

its hard to ground them for a grade like that especially iof all the others are good.. if they are then it sounds like a teacher or class issue and not really her slacking.. I dont know though.. if you feel bad then I would cave in and let her go.. she probably has nice grades in other classes or you might not feel as bad.. lol im rambling and need to go to sleep! see you later! probbaly a week or so! wish me luck at wedding ;)

We have a rule that on report cards, the kids are grounded if they have less than a C-. If it was just this past time, and were a D+, I'd be more forgiving, but Rae has been failing math since the start of the year, despite the help we give her at home. Her problem lies in not handing the work in. Even the teacher says she can do the work, she just choses not to, or to not turn it in.

On top of the E in math (though, to be fair, it was a D on her last report card), she also dropped below a C- in 1 other class last semester. She's had the same rule since she started getting letter grades- nothing below a C-.

That's good to know, Angela. Kirese was spayed when we adopted her- early enough before hand that she didn't look caved in, and her belly fur had grown back, so both of us were concerned over it.

My son had trouble not handing in his papers and was flunking because of the incompletes. We chose to set a goal. If he went 6 weeks without an incomplete and his grade went up to a C he got $5 a week. The next report card came out and he had no incompletes and his grade got up to a B. The best $30 I ever spent. He was so happy with the grades he continued the good work even after we didn't pay him anymore.

April already? Ahhh my kid is almost 10! Bitter sweet, I always thought I'd have a ton of kids by now. Poor kitty. I never made my way up to the candy bar wagon to start with..Cadbury eggs only come but once a year ;) Today is shopping day, planning to O.D on those eggs again. Angela goofed off with homeschool this year so I'm making her work through Summer before I'll promote her.
Oh, cream eggs sound good now. -sigh- I need to not go and get them. If I don't get them, then I'll be skinny by... sometime when I'm 80. ;)

I always enjoy reading the random thoughts. I have so many that I wonder if I am crazy sometimes!!
I'm not sure what I will do with bad grades when that time comes. Zachary's school does A, P, B and BB for grades. His only BBs are from handwriting and I can't imagine grounding him for something like that because he does try. I am not sure when they go to regular grades.

that is a hard one Heather you don't want to think that your conquenses don't mean anything. have you talked to the teacher about her homework have you asked him if he can supply you with the weeks assingment as the beginning of the week so you can make sure she is getting all of it done?

I DIDN'T DO GOOD IN SCHOOL, I WAS TOLD BY MY PARENTS THAT I HAD TO HAVE A "C" AVERAGE. A "C" IS BETTER THAN A "D OR A E" ANY DAY. I HATED BEING GROUNDED WHEN I WAS IN SCHOOL.. NEVER KEPT A "C" AVERAGE. GOT MY BEHIND BEAT A LOT FOR IT TOO.
