Boy, Was I A Klutz Last Night!

When I got home, I had to change the cats' litter box and I always have to put Mercy out of the bathroom because he likes to get in the way and chase the broom while I sweep.  Well, just as I'm about to pick him up, he jumps in the litter box right into one of the other cats' poop that was a bit soggy and walks right out of the box tracking poop all over the bathroom.  I finally caught him and put him on the counter so I could clean him up, which he wasn't thrilled with me about, and spent fifteen minutes trying to hold him down so I could get the poop off of his paw, then off the floor and counter.

I set him outside the bathroom but hadn't had a chance to close the door before he pranced right back into the bathroom.  At that point, I had picked up a trash bag to empty the old litter into it and made the mistake of grabbing Mercy in the same hand to put him back outside the bathroom.  Anyway, he slipped out of my hand onto the carpet but he sort of fell and rolled over.  Poor baby!  Then, I had to run get him and check to make sure he was okay and hug him and let him know I didn't mean to drop him.

After that, I go back to the bathroom shutting the door so he can't get back in and I emptied the litter into the bag and cleaned up the floor under the box.  Then I grabbed the broom and without realizing it, I flipped it over too fast and too close to where Marshmallow was sitting and I hit him either in the eye or right next to it and he started squinting his eye.  Of course, I dropped the broom and immediately checked him out and hugged him and apologized.  After a few minutes, he was alright but it scared me that I had been so careless.

At least they are all alright and I just have to watch myself and not be so careless around them in the future.
