Greece is a country where the past and the present cohabit. This " country of missing gods and men who seem to be gods" , as well as described by Lord Byron, is a country of contrasts: busy cities and peaceful slopes, mountains at the snow-covered tops and beaches sandy, old ruins and animated vacation resorts.
Greece, which is called officially the Hellenic Republic, is a state located on the Mediterranean, with the extreme point of the peninsula of Balkans. It is bordering on Albania, Bulgaria, the old Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in north, and Turkey in the east. Its beaches give on the seas Ionienne and Egée. There are some 3.000 Greek islands, which constitute approximately 19% of the entire surface of the country. The bathed sun coast extends on 13.676 km, with beaches among most splendid of the world. On the agricultural level, Greece is a relatively underdeveloped country. Only 23% of the grounds are arable and, although formerly Greece had marvellous forests, today, only 20% of the surface of the country are covered with wood and forests.
The capital of Greece, Athens, more the big city, is served by Pirée, the largest port of the country. The climate only changes very little between north and the south. In north, the winters are soft and the weather is very cold in mountain, while the summers oscillate between heat and very heat. In the south, the winters are soft and sometimes heats, and the very hot and wet hot summers even in the islands. The official language is the Greek, although English and French are largely used like second language, like a little German.

Lord Byron also described Athens as a small Albanian Village! Asking the question, "are there any Greeks here?"
Arvanite, Vlasi and Turkic speaking peoples was the answer…
These are the ancestors of the modern Greeks. Sometimes it’s better to tell the truth then making things up!
