Step 10:
1. Please write a paragraph (or more) describing the most beneficial aspects of Shedding Light.
Those exercises which I initially objected to the most!:) turned out to be the most beneficial. They opened my mind to areas in my life - unrelated to losing weight - yet completely intertwined.
I'd re-read the instructions for the "crazy" step, sigh and curse under my breath then walk away and sleep on it. I mean, I'm not a negative thinking person so how can I write ten negative things for instance - but, hey - surprise, surprise - it showed me where I stood and what my true feelings and thoughts were.
It was never about the drinking a glass of water with lemon first thing in the morning - come on - how hard is that? Which by the way - I'm hooked on it now, w-e-i-r-d :)
Shedding Light gave me a different perspective on my life in general and it gave me great satisfaction to see and hear some of my sistah sheds relate to the same issues. It was a relief and relaxed some of the self condemnation for being a clutter bug for instance:), but it also brought out renewed energies to tackle the paper tiger.
2. Please write a paragraph (or more) that describes how you contributed to Shedding Light.
I don't know for sure, but I do believe some of my more candid posts helped others see themselves in a different light and created a real connection between us sistah sheds.
I believe the 10 negative thought exercise for instance turned out to be an inspirational post for others in and out of the group.
3. Please write a paragraph (or more) describing why you want to continue on to the next session.
...because I'm not done yet:)
I still need those wonderfully creative exercises that Mariana has come up with, because they were indeed challenges which triggered much needed revelations. I still need to lose more weight and find more balance in my life.
Shedding Light has helped me on my path ....
So thanks Mariana! Salud:)
4. To the members of the new Shedding Light group I'd like to say welcome, hope you get as much out of it as I have.
One observation: You will get out of it, what you put into it. We are all in a different point in our lives, but you will be surprised how much you have in common with the other Shedding Light groupies.
This group is not just about losing weight, but shedding light on your inner self and that is the beauty of it in my humble opinion.
Inspiration - support - clarity and work on your inner self, that is Shedding Light at it's best!
..... and who couldn't use a little inspiration, support and clarity in their lives - just remember - the work is still all up to you:)

I'll be reading up on the new group and have a look at what you've come up with this time:)
Blessings and best wishes - S.
This strikes home with me in a big way. I'm late with my Creative Current for yesterday and today (and will post this afternoon, after a trip to the grocery store to buy toilet paper and kitty litter=both critical needs as of 30 minutes ago, LOL) but even more so....I have had problems with weekends being 'unstructured' time and have always found it much easier to follow any kind of dietary plan during the work week when the routine lends itself to 'fitting in' what I need to do for myself. This weekend, I have stuck to my meal plan, exercise routine and food journal habits, and it feels really good. I haven't done it perfectly but I have done it....learning to apply structure that I come up with to my leisure time and plan for fun things to do, well, that's new for me. I didn't 'cheat' per se on diet/exercise on weekends since starting Shedding Light, but I would often eat breakfast very late, occasionally skip a meal or eat two closer together than I really needed to. This weekend has been a revelation as to how much power I really have to change my life, if I remain open to new ideas and opportunities.
I'm so glad to see you back in the group! I learned a lot from your posts and kind encouragement during the Winter session and look forward to more of your special brand of wisdom.
You were such an inspiration to the Winter Session that I truly did want you back. I know you resisted many of the exercises - but you still did them even better than I expected - and that is what I loved about you - you were able to get beyond the stuck door, and soar. Sometimes we learn the most from things that we resist. I know this to be true. I am what my dad called bull-headed - it's the Taurus in me - and when I left the bull off the head - I too discovered new frontiers! So, write on Rose - name that water glass and see you inside the Spring Session.
We have completed First Wave - tell us about who you are.
Also, creative currents are posted daily. Post them after your half an hour walk or your movements. I stress walking because all of our bones need that low-impact exercise - I don't care how much calcium you consume - Walk!!!
Drink water, eat fresh fruits and a salad with raw vegetables each day. Ok, you know I'll be giving tips down the road. If any of you remember the title of the post about dry brushing, please let me know as I want to post the link for the New Members.
I am making a 90 days weight chart tracker now and will send it out soon - so if anyone wants one - send me your email address.
Also, I'll post Second Wave around Tuesday to give everyone a chance to catch up. Anyone not participating will be removed - this is manadatory in here to be a member going forward! Thanks Rose - if you have any questions, I'm right here. We have a few new members and I hope you all take time to introduce yourself. Have a great day - drink that water - walk, move - smile - you're beautiful! Salud
Today I just joined the Spring session and am looking forward to listening and learning from all you "old" hands. Your post gave me such a high....look what Rose got out of it....maybe, I too, will learn something from participating.
Priscilla - looking forward to seeing you around:)
Elizabeth - Ms Bob, all I can say is that it wasn't at all what I expected and I was grateful to find motivation in those steps (now called waves) and support from my sistah sheds, some of whom met or exceeded their weight loss goal. I didn't meet my weight loss goal, yet I feel I found exactly what I needed to move forward.
Krista - nice to see you sistah shed:)
Mariana - so are you going to model that new dress for us? It's nice to be back, but frightening to engage in another commitment.
j frugal - nope, haven't worn either of my dresses yet, but I hope to next weekend.
