It's been a deep, long and dark tunnel but I finally can see some light at the end of it for my Chicago Bulls. Odds are they will make the playoffs after missing last year. They have a crop of young players who have been surging lately and today 3-28-09, my Bulls bested Indiana 112-106.
John Salmons- averaging 20 points a game since becoming a Bull. This guy can hit from the outside or go to the basket.

John Salmons 22 pts.

Â
Tyrus Thomas- This kid is 6' 9" and goes 215 lbs, he can block shots, rebounds and is developing a nice shot around the basket. He's young and is scoring doubles in both points and rebounding most games now. Tyrus is quick as a cat and has a game above the rim. His work ethic is really getting better.

Tyrus Thomas 18 points, 8 rebounds and 7 blocked shots! Wow!-Â
Look how high Tyrus is above the rim in this shot, he can leap.

Â
Rookie Point Guard Derrick Rose averages 16 points and 6 assists a game and is just about a shoe in for rookie of the year. Derrick has a great first step and when he want to get to the basket there are few in the league that can stop him. He has a nice outside touch that will get better with time. His 3 point shot isn't so good at this stage of his career but neither was Jordan or Dr. J's at the same stage. Ususally the 3 point shot comes as player gets older or loses a step. Did I say Jordan or Dr. J? No pressure Derrick, no pressure at all! LOL

16 points, 8 assists and 9 rebounds. 9 rebounds by a point guard! Only 2 offensive turnovers to boot and only 10 for the team. That's ball security!

There really is light at the end of the tunnel for Chicago Bull fans.
Lastly it's with sadness that I report that Chicago's Illinois Institute of Technology has ended both its' mens and womens basketball program in a funding cutback. It's sad because I feel that everyone should have a place to play and school is one on the best places to play the game.
