I have been waiting for the Republicans plan to see if they are still espoused to the ideas or the philosophy that, partly, got us in trouble. They came with a plan. One with Zero numbers. To be fair, very little numbers. Asked what the deficit would be under their plan, the best these "best and brighest" of the House Republicans could come up with is a 19-page pamphlet that does not include a single real budget proposal or even estimate. There are more numbers in this article thus far than there are in the entire House GOP budget.
Apparently, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) objected to an abbreviated alternative budget "blueprint." They were told to move out of the way, and get into the program by none other than House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio).
So next week they will try this again. This time, hopefully there will be numbers to criticize or approve. At this point, the only thing to say about them is that they remain the Got 0 Plans party.
Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio): "Don't increase the deficit, don't bailout banks, don't bailout homeowners, don't build new schools, don't build hospitals, don't fix the bridges, don't build new highways, don't offer healthcare to all, don't touch social security and medicare (they are just fine), don't ..., don't..., don't ...."
Democrats: "What do you propose we do to solve all these problems?"
J.B. : "That's your problem. You are in charge, damn it!!! Start acting like it. When we were, we passed anything we wanted using gimmicks like reconcialiation or so. We were not having from any dummocrats. LOL."
Until these clowns have a plan to debate, pay no attention to them.

The truth is that next week is a continuation of what happened this week. There was always a two part plan. Part 1 was the 19-page pamphlet to answer critics who said the GOP was only saying no and not offering an alternative. The pamphlet was an announcement that a GOP budget is coming. Part 2 is supposed to be the actual GOP proposed budget.
To say the pamphlet was the budget, and that it bombed so they will try again next week, is skewing the facts.
Obama? Clinton? Kucinich? Dean? Gore? Pelosi? Reid?
When you don't hold the White House, it's not an easy question to answer. Each has their own following. The Republicans right now are no different in the leadership department than the Democrats were when GWB was the President.
Bush adjusted the tax tables in 2001 and 2003 so that 11 million low-income workers no longer had to pay federal income taxes. How exactly is that screwing the working class?
Jim,
Obama was the leader of the Democrat Party while GWB was in office?
Really? Have you run that by those that supported Hillary?
Geo. Bush improved the economy.
This is the economy as the Republicans want us to have.
Who is on public assistance is hilarious with her rantings and ravings about socialism
Anyways, call it whatever you want. When you propose an alternative, you at least tell us what the deficit is under your budget. Any ABSTRACT/INTRODUCTION/EXECUTIVE SUMMARY/PART I would at least summarize how much is spent, where is the revenue, what 's the dificit.
My description of the facts was solely based on what they billed the news conference as. Don't tell me the person running COMMUNICATION over there is also mediocre?
Boehner specifically said at the press conference that the details were coming next week.
I've been saying since Obama got in office that Republicans needed to offer solutions, not just criticize what the president is proposing. The burden is on them. If they fail next week I'll be right there to criticize them. But let's give them until then, shall we?
I truly hope an idea emerges from their budget. There are no real reason why reasonable Americans could not come up with an idea the President should not consider. In particular if those Americans are lawmakers who have a sense of what (good) ideas can get passed because with politics, a good idea is not enough.
Anyways, these folks have a chance to do something useful instead of simply bickering and criticizing. People are getting sick of them. I don't know who is doing their polling. Probably the guy who told McCain suspending your campaign will be popular.
Then the wiffle waffling started. "Blueprint" - "Proposal" - "Roadmap"
We can give them all the time they need. They really need the time. It's been 27 days (not counting the extreme i.e. today and the day Obama's budget came out). They can take another month. They seem to need the time.
Now that's a problem. An outline is not a "Table of Contents." Unfortunately from them, "Budget Outlines" actually exist. They contain figures on Revenue, Expenditures, Savings, Projections and so forth.
Called it an outline. It was pretty damn poor on. Grab your popcorns for Wednesday. My guess is that they will not include the wars on the Budget a la George Bush.
Then again, most Repubs do not have much an idea on what the budget SHOULD look like and are jealous of the scale of Dem theft. Compared to Bush, the Dems under Obama are going into overdrive on real large scale theft with no whiny excuses. Like the Dems, many Repubs worry about elections and securing pork for their districts. The handful of Repubs who abide by the Constitution are so outnumbered by the Dems and majority of the Repubs so it has become a hopeless fight.
