Free cell phone offer

There's an 800 number to call for senior citizens to get a free cell phone with 100 free minutes each month from the government. I googled "free cell phone for senior citizens" and found a link.  It's worth looking into for some of you. Here's the link - https://www.safelinkwireless.com/Enr...blic/home.aspx. It doesn't say on the site that you need to be a senior citizen, just a low income family. And it's only good in certain states. But definitely worth checking into.

Interesting. In the AARP magazine there are always ads for a company that has some great phones for seniors. Bigger numbers on them. And programs as little as 10 dollars per month - just so they have the phones for emergencies...like when they're driving around.

I already have LifeLine (as I'm 'disabled' and receive SSD) through my local carrier on my home phone...$1 per month, plus taxes and fees. Local calls are ten cents each; no matter what length...and long distance is seventeen cents per minute. I rarely make any telephone calls, so my bill is always low. For a month when I don't make any calls, my telephone bill is $1.85 per month.

Sorry, but a cell phone is not a necessity. Pisses me off that my tax dollars are going to pay for cell phones for people on welfare. Ridiculous. I don't even have a personal cell phone, but I'm so glad I can fund it for others. *sigh* This government is ridiculous.
