Those poor parents! Schools don't pay much attention. The baby I placed for adoption when I was 18 got mail at my parents' house 5 years later, inviting her to kindergarten roundup. Duh, she lived with her adoptive parents. Hello!

I agree with Priscilla. People these days are so sue-happy it's disgusting. Can't people make mistakes, and apologize for them anymore? What exactly would be their grounds for a lawsuit anyway? Remember these people are in England, not America. They don't have the same laws as we do. I dare say people over there aren't so quick to bring a lawsuit against others at the drop of a hat like Americans are.

It happened. Yes, it was distressing. They apologized and are trying to find a way to make sure that it won't happen in the future. What more do you want?!

I'm sure it was terrible for the parents but come on, what harm was really done? I sent a graduation announcement to my great great aunt because I hadn't heard she died. So her daughter got it with all her other mail...oh no! It was an honest mistake I don't think anyone said "oh those parents are bad people they should be reminded that their daughter is not only dead but also not attending school!!" It was clearly a computer program that automatically sends out notices like this and the school was most likely just being nice and not removing her from their list so she would still go in the yearbook and official class list. They most likely will also give the parents a diploma for her, something they couldn't do if they just dis enrolled her. (also something the parents most likely need to do, not the school)
