Why don't people pay attention to the theme? I mean, I know it's very easy to occasionally post something to the wrong group. I'm sure I've done it. But I never do it intentionally, and I certainly wouldn't get upset if someone emailed me and pointed out my error.
So, after QUITE some time of someone constantly posting EVERYTHING to my Grocery Deals group ( Hey, Jenysie - are you proud of me? I finally figured out the link thing! LOL) and having to constantly decline them, I sent a private message nicely asking this person to not post unrelated topics to my group as it was intended for Grocery Deals/freebies/etc only. The reply I got back was nasty and "biting" and said she was removing herself from my group and wouldn't have to be bothered with her posts anymore. Huh? all I asked was to pay attention to the theme of my group!
After some thought I decided to totally disconnect myself from this person. Obviously they have "issues" that I don't care to be involved in.

I may post by mistake -usually when my fingers do not want to work well....but I try to really check out the groups I post to, I look at the list before I post.
I am glad that the video helped you!
Also I watch what I post to out of consideration of the group owner because I too am a group owner and it's very frustrating...although there are times that the content I am publishing is questionable about some groups...so when I am not sure I sometimes post to a group and sometimes don't...and hope that if it doesn't work the group owner will forgive and just delete it.

I used to send messages to members when I would be required to remove their off-topic content from my group. The majority of the time I would receive polite apologies in return, but every once in a while I would receive a note from someone who simply didn't understand the rationale.
Today I remove the content without notifying the publisher...and if it continues I remove their membership or moderate their content (now that we can moderate specific members). That seems to work out quite well.
If more group owners would remove off-topic content, groups would be more effective than they are today.
I'm very careful to post what I think is corresponding to a group's purpose, and there are so many generic groups that people who want to post anywhere should only join groups that accept all posts, but that's never going to happen either.
Everyone should wake up and realize that not all things are meant to be seen by all eyes.
Great Post!
