I haven't been on much lately because I have been busy planning our 1st Child Abuse Rally. I am still needing to organize some things but I thought I would share with all of you the page I have so far.
I found out today that I have two different possibilities on speakers. One being from S.A.F.E. its a local organization for sexual abuse victims. Another one is through DCFS. I am hoping they get back with me tomorrow with the for sure.
I am starting tomorrow I am going to contact local preachers and ask them if they will volunteer for a "Kiss the pig". People will be able to give $2 a vote on who they want to kiss the pig. Whoever has the most votes will kiss the pig.
I am hoping if I get enough books to have a book sale as well.
One more thing I want to have is a silent auction on some large items. I contacted a few artists asking them if they would want to donate an artwork still waiting to hear from them. Trying to get some large children toys as well, even if they are gently used.
We will end the night in a candle light vigil. If you click on the top of this article where is says Child Abuse Rally that is the website.
If any of you are crafty I found these candles I thought would be neat for the vigil. Would anyone have an ideal how to make them inexpensive?

You could also use small paper cups and punch the candles through the bottoms. Check party supply stores. Best of luck with this educational outreach, Rene.

I don't know if it would work but it's worth a try.
Helping you meet your gather goals!
I can't think of a better person to be doing this rally.
God Bless, Rene'~
May your day be great!

I wish you could too Marsha thanks.
Thank you everyone for everything.
Wanting something is not enough. You must hunger for it. Your motivation must be absolutely compelling in order to overcome the obstacles that will invariably come your way.
In the end, it is the person you become, not the things you have achieved, that is the most important.
