Greetings Sistahs ~ In order to make any program work, you have to first and foremost have a strong desire to do it. You also have to have the proper tools and that's where I come in. Then, you have to do it and follow through and support others who are in the same boat. I will be posting tips as we move along.
Always read the instructions carefully and do just what they ask - you can embellish, of course, after you do the actual assignment.
In order not to confuse anyone please title Creative Currents #1 (etc) These are for daily poems after your walks. Walk everyday for a half an hour. Keep poems short - haikus are great.
STAY DISCIPLINED - TRY TO MOVE EVERYDAY - IF YOU CAN'T WALK FOR A HALF AN HOUR - DANCE IN PLACE, STRETCH, JUST MOVE !
The steps are now called Waves. The Second Wave will be posted soon.
Waves will be titled First Wave - etc. I will post the Second Wave soon.
Regarding the posts: They represent that little black dress or whatever other outfit you are dying to wear. That little black dress finally fits you. You managed to zip it up and it makes you feel like a Goddess. Your body is right where it should be. Your hair is perfect. You accessorize with unique jewelry and shoes. Then, you walk into the party and someone mentions that your bra strap is showing! Your WHITE bra strap - ! They didn't notice anything else but that! Ok, that's what misspelled words and typos look like - a white bra strap with a black dress. Enough said - remember this is mind discipline too! Proof your posts, accessorize them, make them creative - they are YOU!
If you want to do daily upgrades. You can post them in Salud, http://musings.gather.com/ my other group. That group is for daily musings. You can post Videos in Salud if you like.
In here, please only post what is asked. This makes it easier for everyone to comment on everyone's posts. Please don't try to redefine this program - stay disciplined.
There are times when we feel we have to talk about our low points or our celebrations. Once a week, you can have a Low Tide or a High Tide or one of each. This is where you can talk about how hard it was to pass up the hot buns - That would be a Low Tide. Soon, you'll be telling us that nothing tastes as good as losing five pounds feels. That's a High Tide.
Back to the Body: Here is a link to a food pyramid
If you want the weight chart tracker, send me your regular email.
These simple tools should get you off to a good start. I am going to recommend this. Three fruits a day - fresh fruits. Oatmeal every single morning. A salad every single day with raw vegetables. NO SODAS. Eight glasses of water a day - WATER. Everything else is up to you. We all have different constitutions.
Just remember this: 3,500 calories makes a pound. A calorie is a measurement of heat - as long as the heat energy expended matches the heat energy consumed, a person's weight will remain constant. Keep moving! Watch every morsel that goes into your mouth. Read labels.
Eat quality food -whole/raw food. Eat a wide variety to obtain all the necessary nutrients for lots of energy. Chew for your food very well. This is as important as what you are eating. If you have questions about anything contact me, we can work with you on an individual plan. Also, feel free to ask questions on this post.
You'll soon realize that you're not really depriving yourself but you're gaining good health. In time, everything about you improves and you'll begin to feel balanced in mind, body and spirit. Thank you again for taking this journey with us - it takes courage and determination but is so worth it! The Second Wave will be posted in the next couple of days! Thank you for being part of this group! Salud

Waves = 'steps'; Creative Currents = daily journal...is that accurate?
By the way, I've added a separate food journal sheet to the Chart spreadsheet you gave me way back when... I have found it invaluable in tracking eating patterns and how my weight fluctuates according to what I am eating, drinking or feeling. It only takes a few minutes to fill out after each meal and when I use it regularly it is much easier to stay on track....
Questions
What I planned to eat
What I actually ate (just a general description of main ingredients and portions)
How do I feel about my food choices?
What, if anything, would I change?
What specific choices are necessary to make that change?
Extra insight (this is where I write things I've been pondering; successes or revelations).
Lunchtime, the stairs await! "See" y'all this weekend!
Thank you for this clarification, it sure helps.
I do wonderful in the water department. I see that I can do better in the fruit department & the oatmeal as well.
I will start on the fruit & oatmeal regimine once we arrive in Minnesota next Friday. Meanwhile, while we are traveling....I will try to find some fresh fruit each day to add to my eating.
Lunch today is a delicious fresh italian anitpasto salad!
On this walk, be aware of your surroundings, the sounds, the smells, your thoughts. Every single day, you may post a poem about this walk. It has to be something short that comes to you. You don't have to worry about the structure, the style - just something creative about your daily walk. Haikus are lovely. We want you to look forward to your walks for inspiration - this should be fun for you.
- just something short and creative like a poem or haiku!
Great about the food chart - I am going to send out a new one with the 90 day plan - if you want a new one - let me know through my email address bayoutoes@aol.com
that way I can send it to you!
I really like that Linda and I highly recommend each person do this as it really makes you aware of why you are snacking so much...also, keep track of water.
Stay wonderful, Linda - I appreciate the input very much. Salud
Thank you for the motivation. By the way, I love oatmeal with raisens. I can do that very well.

thanks and have a great weekend. Salud
Poems, musings etc. after walks are called creative currents, and those are daily.
Waves are the prompts/tasks, etc that you post for us to respond to.
We can have one high and/or low tide posting per week shall we feel the need too.
And if we feel we need to do update posts that don't fit into any one of those categories, we post it to Salud.
Salud
I, for one, appreciate you posting this......(I love 'anything' that you post)! I really love this....you have explained 'everything' so well and so simple!!! (Watch me mess up now....HeeHee)!!!! :O)
Dorine, just walk as much as you can - as long as you do it every day, you will get stronger and then you can add another 5 minutes to your walk.
Although I am aware that 3,500 calories make a pound and know about many of your other points, it is still helpful to me.
When you watch what you eat over time for better health, you know a lot of things over the years.
A lot of things however, does not make me an expert on nutrition and all it takes is one tip to make my life better.
Your advice is excellent.
Thank you.
George Vreeland Hill
George - I didn't know you were coming in and we had two in the wings so I let them in - you can follow along and post daily musings in my Salud group if you want - thanks very much. Salud
I'm sorry to keep repeating myself but some folks aren't getting it. Salud
Great projects ahead...new horizons to see...Thank you so much.
