So, What Are You Filling Easter Baskets With This Year?

I have five Easter baskets and I'm trying to stay away from Candy. Here's what I've got so far.

My sister, age 50
Found a lucy and ethel barbie set for $15 at Big Lots. (She's a collector)
She likes Peeps, so those will be in there
Hopefully I can pick up a cheap journal

Niece, age 14
Two eyeshadow pallets from Physicians Formula
Some Lip Gloss
A book or two

My niece, age 7
A doctor Seuss book, a Junie B Book
hair accessorie
fruity chapstick
a candy-filled tierra
some type of game

My niece, age 5
2 Dr. Seuss books
a cheap movie
the candy tierra
a polly pocket

My newphew, age 2
2 Dr. Seuss book
An Elmo alphabet movie
a transforme
Some M & M's

Any other ideas? What's the most popular things for Easter baskets this year? I don't have a lot of money but pride myself on my Easter baskets. Any other suggestions?

All I have so far is a Backyardigans DVD for Maddie....I need to get cracking though

I'm doing them for a 21 yr. old son and hubby......candy, candy and more candy.....LOL! Plus, might slip in some crisp bills!!! There are no little kids in our house, so I have no idea what's "in" and what's "out!" The guys are both candy fanatics, so that's what I get them most often....especially Reece's Easter eggs....they are soooo scrumptious!

I only have to fill a basket for my best friend...and it's mostly candy!!! I've picked up about $30 - $35 worth so far. I also got a scented candle to put in the middle of it all and some Del Monte fruit cups to arrange around it...and a small, stuffed bunny, too.

I love pens and markers even as a adult, and I think kids would love those. You can turn them all into mini-journalists/PR reps!

I really have not thought much about Easter to tell you the truth. One year, I was visiting a friend and she had given her kids these cute cheese pieces that were made in the shape of animals instead of candy. They came from a cheese shop and were shaped like lambs and rabbits (they had a waxy outer coating that you stripped away, like of like Laughing Cow cheese, if you are familiar with that brand).

We're going to my sister-in-law's & her fiance's house, my sister-in-law has a 11 yr. old daughter, her fiance has a 8 yer. old daughter & a 13 yr. old son. I am going to get a large basket & make a "Movie Lover's" basket (hopefully I can find a basket at goodwill.).
I will fill it with some Easter candy, Movie candy, Popcorn (got that Bogo) a blockbuster gift card, a few dvd's, and Coca-Cola (bogo).

I'm not sure . . . . things are pretty tight money-wise now

maybe we'll just color some eggs - and make some decorations

no clue what to do about baskets tho

My goodness sounds like everyone is treating Easter more like Christmas. Whatever happened to dyeing eggs and having a family hunt?

I seen some journals at Borders and Waldons on clearnce the other day while shopping. You might check there. They were nice journals but very inexpensive.

I have not started any Easter basket shopping yet, we leave for FL tonight and I am more concentrated on that right now. I have never been to FL and am very excited.

DVD's...Gift Cards....Candy....Plastic Eggs with Money in them. I am sure that I will find some small stuff to put in there.

I also have a new nephew this year he is only 6 months old but we will have to make him something. Toys and Clothes.

Elliott is getting a DVD, a small stuffed animal, a book, coloring book, and some candy. There might be something else that I'm forgetting, but those are the main things.

I always add some fresh fruit and toothbrushs..I usaully spend extra and get the rotating kind. The rest of the year the kids get stuck with regular toothbrushes

I have to fill baskets for my three grand children. Baskets will be filled with fruits, eggs, and less sweets.

I don't do Easter baskets. It's just hubby, me and the dogs so it doesn't seem worth doing a basket. hehe We just buy and enjoy lots of candy.

I always make an Easter basket for my husband and two good friends. They like the traditional baskets filled with dyed eggs, candy and of course the chocolate bunnies.
