Commenting on Gather

I try to comment on everyone who comments on my articles, but sometimes, no most of the time, I get interested elsewhere.  It's not easy to comment back.  If you go to your post, and click on someone who commented, it takes forever or so it seems to return to your post, and click on the next person.  I really spend a lot of time doing this, and was wondering if there were  a better way?  How do you do it?

By the way, I got called a moron today.  Don't you just love it.

i usually right click and open the persons page in a new tab, so that what i was originally looking at is still open

i am not sure if there is a better or easier way... maybe just write down the names and then comment when you see them post something? not sure

I have a heard time returning comments ~ I also get distracted very easily ;) Good Luck figuring out a system.

I just started getting email notifications when my friends and groups post articles. you click straight to the article from the link in the email. easy peasy as my kids would say :)

A moron? Oh good grief, that person needs to grow up and get a life.....I don't know how to do it, either.........I just comment however I can, when I can and as much as I can....there are times that I will send out one article and thank everyone for taking the time to comment/view my stuff......good grief, people need to realize that there is NO way to be able to answer/reply to each and every post.
I cannot believe all the immature name calling here on Gather....just amazing, isn't it?

Also, not all of us are able to spend 24/7 here on Gather.........in my family, we have 3 different schedules for 3 different people..........I cannot be on here for hours at a time......"real life" really takes precedence!!!

just do what you gotta do, "real" gather people don't care if you return every comment. If they do than chances are those aren't the friends you want.

I don't know if there is a better way, it seems hard to stay caught up no matter how you do it!
Oh and about the moron thing, just remember it takes one to know one! :)

I wouldn't worry about it, do what you can, most of us understand, I'm really bad about comment for comment, but when I am here I spend more time commenting and rating friends posts.

Use the members gather address from the notification email you get when someone responds to your post/article. You can open a seperate Gather window for commenting.

I doubt anyone expects you to comment on every person who left you a comment. Thats not realistic!

I usually just go down my feeds and view everything. I try to make a mental not of people who comment on my articles and when I see one of theirs posted i comment on it if I have something to add but at the very least I view it. I view everything that comes through my feeds.

I use to comment like that but it just took so much out of me, so I do what Chris does, just go down my feeds. There are a few that comment on everything I have and I'll make it my business to comment on alot of their photos/articles.

LOL I don't think you are a moron... silly but not a moron.

I have all posts for my connections going to a specific e-mail address. I open everything. I read most things. I comment on what I feel I have something to comment on. I don't expect people to look at all my stuff. I especially don't expect comments. Though they are nice to get once in a while.

I'm in awe of people who get 150 comments for some such thing or another. I feel privileged to have 10 comments on any post or pictures LOL

I just click the ones that I get in emails.

once in awhile I go to someones site and if I like the pictures I comment on lots of them.
I never expect anyone to comment on that many for me.

I like to enjoy gathering rather than have it become work.
I just comment on the stuff in my feeds that interest me~

I first comment on articles from people who comment on my articles. Then I comment on other posted articles.

I only comment on what I feel like. I don't abide by the 'comment for comment' rule'. Sometimes, I just don't have anything to say in regards to some posts. Imagine that...me...with nothing to say! LOL!

I love Right Clicking so that I don't lose any posts. I get carried away too. Sometimes I have 10 or more different Gather articles open at once.

I comment on that which I have a comment for. Out of allllllllllll of my connections, I've had maybe 3-5 regular commentors. I don't run around and whine. Sure I love getting comments just as much as the next Gatherite... and sometimes I get a good amount of comments!! But come on, not everyone has the time to sit and click every link in their feed and leave a comment... at least not comment and really read what is written and make a good comment.

I read what interests me and comment when i have something to say. Sometimes i feel saying nothing is a better option and like you I dont get back to everyone the same day that comments but I try to comment on everyone when i can.

If you hold Ctrl and click on the link it automatically opens in a new tab. That's typically how I do my gathering. It works pretty well for me. I always have at least 5 tabs open for various things. It's more convenient in Firefox than in IE too.

I don't give comment for comment, just as I don't receive. I'd drive myself crazy if I even considered doing that.

I would just do what you like on here, so you can actually enjoy your time on here.
