Prom is killing me!

Yesterday I had to take my son to get fitted for his tux for prom.  To rent his tux was $179.38.

I also went and got my daughters' dresses out of layaway.  One dress cost $266 and the other was $118.  At least they get to keep their dresses!  My son's tux was more than my younger daughters dress and he has to take it back.  Thank goodness the girls around here are good about passing their dresses around each year so someone else can borrow it.  Next year they will be borrowing!  Unless they want to pay for their own.

 

My son will not be a problem to get ready.  Shower and he is done!  The girls on the other hand will have to have their hair, nails and makeup done.  My oldest daughter is going to do nails and makeup for them.  She does a really good job.  That will save some money.

 

Right after prom we have to start saving for Graduation!  It never ends!!!!

Wow thats really high for a tux rental:( They are much cheaper in my area, thats one reason im happy to have a son lol, prom will be so much cheaper lol. Senior year can be very expensive:(

Our youngest daughter is so frugal! She borrowed a dress for her Jr. year prom and her Senior year, she found a dress on clearance for $89!

My mom didn't help me out with a penny of my senior prom, but I had the best time anyway: found a stained dress at the thrift store and dyed it black (and did some minor alterations), got my jewelery on clearance, and I was inspired by Indian saris at the time so I made my own shawl out of sheer fabric from JoAnne's, to which I glued mirrors. I was pretty darn proud of myself.
