Happy Birthday WeeWE characters! I’ve enjoyed watching you grow and learn so much about one another in such a short time and look forward to seeing where you go next.
Again, I am listing several exercises for the week. Choose one or more of the following:
- What drives and/or motivates your character? What issue or situation is important enough to your character that s/he would fight for it? Go out on a limb for it? Die for it? Write a scene in which your character demonstrates this drive or motivation. For example, if fear motivates your character, show him/her taking needless risks. If the desire to be famous drives your character, s/he might audition for a movie role. If possible, let your character recognize another character’s strength in the area that motivates him/her, or sympathize with one who does not share his/her passion.
- Write a scene in which your character behaves totally out of character. For example, if your character is a jerk, make him nice. If she is strong, make her weak.
- Lynn’s challenge – Characters in action. Write your character in any of the many scenes Lynn provided in her bonus challenge - Hawaii vacation, best-seller list, recognizable in public, dealing with groupies, plane crash, fighting with writer, etc. Work alone, in pairs, or in groups.
Game: Suggested by Barb C. Have your character take the Myers-Briggs Test. For extra fun, compare your character’s results to your own.
Joy’s workshop example: Let’s continue what Joy introduced in her Saturday Writers’ Workshop and offer helpful suggestions/critique to one another on these exercises.
FYI to all WE members regarding Tuesday editorial policies: On Tuesdays, I will accept Tuesday Interactive Writing Project posts, Saturday’s Writers’ Workshop posts, and other works of fiction and creative writing if they are open to everyone for comments and constructive criticism. Please do not submit work that belongs in other Essential groups (books, coupons, entertainment, family, food, health, moms, money, movies, music, news, politics, or travel).
I apologize for not being around to accept content in Wee WE over the weekend. To make sure you will be able to find posts the next time I’m sick, I changed group settings to allow participants to post content without moderator approval. Please be careful not to post unrelated articles to WeeWE, or to your character groups.

You spelled lazy wrong, cupcake.
Anyway, just a thought.
Donna, I saw what happened with your group. I think some people just click every group on their list when they post. Fortunately, we can put individuals on monitored status now so I'll be able to leave everyone else unmoderated and only switch back anyone who violates the group purpose. I can't imagine that happening with this group.
Doyle used the letters x, y, and z in one comment. How cool.
Another week, and more proof that you "love" me; right backatcha. ;-)

Amusement park or beach?
How ever did you know?!
Sincerely,

I need more coffee.

Now that'd be something I'd like to see from the Ferryman.
I frequently kick back with a beer and watch Rock of Love:Tour Bus for fun. See?! No story there!

I'd MUCH rather be doing this stuff. I'm going to be up a creek without a paddle when both bosses are in town! I'll have to WORK. :\
Hubby expects me to go around behind him and organize. I don't do it very often (because I think that's part of the job) but sometimes I'll be nice and find his sh ... er ... stuff.
As for busy, that's just a small, small percentage of stuff I have my hands in. I need a big button that says, "Just say NO!"
This note is to verify that your employee, _(writer)____, is needed to pump life into __(character)___. The world will be a better place when ___(character)_____ is fully developed and healthy, so we appreciate your contribution to society.
Sincerely,
WeeWE
I'll get caught up very shortly...Lil' Ms. Wingnutia is still back in the alley, looking for a window to dash in but, dang, everyone is gone. It'll be a goldilocks moment, I'm guessing...
From back alleys to Hawaii, to Myers Briggs...you guys sure are NOT boring.
Blessed be all.
I'm going to go sit and stare at a white wall for at least 20 minutes. We had individual presentations tonight (for four hours...) and I'm still socially, humanly stunned and stunted by some of them...

Liz has gone to work with me and she will be writing about that soon.
Thanks again,
Grems
I hope someone else tries the Myers-Briggs test. It came up with some very interesting stuff I hadn't thought of (but it matched the character). Very cool -- like learning about one of your multiple personalities! Hee hee.
I don't know what's wrong with the state of Illinois, Grems. That note looks good to me.
Glad to see you, Cole! Please tell Emme hello for me. Now, I'm off to read the continuation (and to catch up a little).
I apologize to everyone for not being around as much as I wanted to be yesterday. I "think" I'm better today - but then, I thought that the last two days and my stomach proved me wrong. I promise I'll catch up soon.
Ahahahaha.
I've snapped.
I never cease to be amazed at your talent and brain activity--amazing.
