I love Farmer's Markets. Ed and I went to Naples a couple of weekends ago to visit his Uncle Jack. When trying to decide what to do on Saturday morning, I was looking through the weekend events in the newspapers. I saw that Naples has 3 big Farmer's Markets. I had to go. I was determined to get some fresh fruit anf veggies to bring home.
We headed out at 7am and boy was I happy at what I found. I came home with a huge head of cauliflower, 5 big green tomatoes, 4 yellow peppers, 8 pablano peppers, 2 big eggplants, 2 cantalopes and a huge bunch of raddishes for a grand total of $7.00.
That much in the grocery store would have cost me nearly $20 (or maybe even more). The stuff was fresh anf beautiful.
Of course being a Gatherite, I had my camera with me. Here are some pics of the Farmer's Markets.

I Love the Farmers Market but we have awhile to wait up here.
The food looks wonderful. I can't believe the deal you got on fresh produce. Here in PA the farmers markets have gotten greedy and they charge the same amount that grocery stores do, pretty much. If you want to get cheap stuff you have to go in the back and get the seconds- the stuff that doesn't look so good. It shouldn't be that way.
I love that it is right on the street and full of shoppers. Ours aren't that way at all. They are either farmers market buildings or one little stand by the side of the road. Those stands offer some good deals sometimes.
