3 of my neighbors are registered sex offenders

I wish they would give a little more detail on the sex offender websites!

We have 3 registered sex offenders, each live  less than a mile away from our house. The sex offender websites doesn't give specifics. I want to know if he molested a little child, raped an adult, was he 17 and his girlfirend 16 and the parents got mad?  Ya know?! I wish I knew more!

The websites show the offenders name, address, photo, weight age and height!  I think they should also give us the other details that really matter - like the offense they are convicted of!

I think all sex crimes are disgusting and people should know where those criminals live.  As a mother and a woman, I want to know specifics!  Granted, I'm not going to let ANY known sex offender near my children, it's not worth the risk! 

My kids are with me at all times but you can NEVER be too careful!  Knowledge is power!

I wrote this after reading, Is Your Neighbor A Sex Offender? by j - Frugal Mom - r.  Thanks for the reminder J.  Last time I checked there was only 1 offender that lived on our road, now there are 3!

We live in a fairly small town and there are currently 22 registered sex offenders in the data base.  That is SCARY!

We have three child molesters living in our building. And, we have lots of kids running around. Not a good thing. Unfortunately, there's not a lot we can do about it that I'm aware of.

wow, i agree they should give a little more detail so you know but I look at it this way a sex offender is a sex offender it does not matter what,where or how I do not want them near my kids,house or me.

Yes it would be good to know more details. But it sounds like they all at least molested minors, I think that is a sure enough sign to be weary of them. There are about 10 in the suburb I live in, but again there are not much details.

Depending on your state, you may be able to go to a specific town hall type building or the courts and pay a small fee to see more details and public records. They want to know your name when you do though, the fact that you asked will be recorded. That you are a mother of young children and live next door is a good enough reason to get the information

scary yes yet you are in control of your kids at all times I live in a town of 7000 folks and there are 25 sex offenders here, and my town is no bigger then 5 miles wide and 8 miles long,, so they are all over,, I control my son and help my other control my grandkids,, I know where they are at all times, and stay with the younger ones,, so yes we have problems yet we should control them before it get out of hand with our kids,,,

I'd never been to that website and kinda sorry I went over there. There are 60 registered sex offenders within 4 miles of me and God only knows how many perverts that haven't been convicted yet. :o(

My kids are with me at all times too but you can NEVER be too careful! And the town we live in is about 1/2 the sizxe of the one you live in!

Where I live, the Sheriff's Department sends out postcards with a photo and arrest info on any convicted sex offenders who live within a mile or two of you. I got one where I lived at my old apartment. People shouldn't have to live in worry for their kids.

We have hundreds of sex offenders within about half to three quarters of a mile from my house. I think there's a dozen of them within a block from my home, too.

That is scary!!! We can't be with our children 24/7, as much as we like to be, so I agree with you. They should provide more information.

You can never be to sure what the sexual offender actually did. As my husband special needs niece was molested by her now ex stepfather and he was only charged with Conviction date: 9/8/2008

She was only 8 or 9 at the time. She was 11 when he was convicted.

I'm actually surprised there aren't more in my neighborhood. I like that I can see pictures of the people and what their offense was.
Based on the descriptions you have, I would be most afraid of person number 2. I am pretty sure that when it is statutory rape it isn't labeled as sexual abuse.

I went to the site to check since I haven't been there in a while and the stupid site won't let me zoom in because it says my pop-up blocker is enabled, but I keep it disabled.

Your own state should have its own site. My state shows the photos of the offenders and their address. NC sex offenders

Just do a search from your tool bar "your state" then sex offender search and it should bring up your states site.

Wow yours didn't list much of anything...the ones near me all have that information identified, which makes it all the more disgusting. Especially since once is close to my work and I actually deal with him from time to time!

I have email alerts that send me an email when an offender moves in near us.
I only have two within my neighborhood...an indecent exposure charge (while drunk) and sexual conduct with a minor. That one I have to look up. The guy.s current age is listed as 27.

I have 3 that live in my neighborhood that I KNOW of there could be more who knows what people are thinking no days you can never be to careful with protecting your kids,they shouldn't even be in neighborhoods at all they should be locked up there is no help for these creeps.
