Lance Armstrong is in the hospital after crashing his bike in a five-day race in Spain. The crash occurred in the first stage of the race when Armstrong was involved in a pileup of 10 cyclists.
The extent of his injuries isn't known yet, but Armstrong was seen pointing to his collarbone. If he does have a collarbone injury, it will completely upset his preparation for the Tour de France in July, which he came out of retirement for.
If Lance Armstrong can beat testicular cancer and afterwards run the NYC and Boston marathons, plus win the Tour de France again and again, I'm fairly confident he can get through this too. That won't stop him from getting back on a bike. But I really hope he can make it to the upcoming Tour de France. Otherwise, I don't have much interest in watching, and probably a lot of other people will feel the same. Whatever companies are the sponsors of the Tour de France this year are cringing as we speak!
