Springtime always means that the grass will grow. When the grass grows it has to be mowed. I love to mow. My riding mower has been broken since the end of the season last Fall. I finally got it repaired. It needed a new mower belt. Yesterday I mowed my yard. Not much grass yet but I didn't do the pre-emergent weed spray thing last Fall so the spring weeds were really thriving and getting sort of big. I haven't raked up the magnolia cones from this past winter either, it's a chore that I hate doing. Don't know why I hate doing this, I just do. I have a battery charged weed eater that I use for trim around the areas that the mower can't get into because the gas powered ones are too heavy for my old bones to carry. The small battery will only let me do part of the trim before it needs recharging, so this chore takes me a couple of days, but I like doing this so it's okay. Today, I'm going into town to fill the gas can for the next mowing time and to check out the plants at the local nursery. Maybe I'll plant some new flowers this year. I haven't decided yet. I don't usually plant from seed anymore, but I still like to do marigolds from seed. They grow fast and are so beautiful. One year I did petunias from seed and I still get repeats from them every year.
