This time right away I told him (this was the 3rd different person to call) right away that I want something sent that shows my signature, the original creditor etc.
He says he doesn't have that information, but can send out the dispute paperwork, of which I will have 20 days to fill out, file a fraud claim with the police and return the paperwork. If I do all this and they still believe it to be mine then the whole $531.27 is then due, no settlement offer.
He says he doesn't think it's a Gateway computer as the last gal told me it was. He says it's a signature loan from First Western National Northern Bank right here in my own town and he called it an I-Loan. He says this is a loan where I physically walked into the bank and signed the papers in person, so it had to have been me.
I'm sorry, but I think I would remember, even 10 years ago going and getting a loan of any type. Not to mention, how would I get a loan, my credit has always been bad. For the last 13 year all I had for work outside the home was a 1-3 hour a day lunch aide position. And, he is claiming the loan was paid on for 2 years.
My husband (now ex) was arrested and sentenced to 24 years in prison in 1999. So that left me without a husband to be working and paying the bills. I know I would remember this if it was mine, and remember that I paid monthly on a loan for 2 years!
I guess just wish me luck. Once again I will look over my credit reports, but I've done that twice and see nothing on there where I owe $531.27. I also still believe that even if by chance something is wrong with my memory and I did indeed get some sort of a loan, the last payment made on it was 8 years ago and I should no longer legally have to pay it.
