Yesterday, after waking at 4 a.m. and working with patients till mid morning, I rushed home with one thought in mind. Allen & I were embarking on another journey, only this time it involved time travel......
When we arrived at Landmark Park, one of my favorite spots to visit, we were transported to farm life in the 1800s. We met many people...each one, with their unique personality, was willing to share their knowledge and their Southern hospitality was "infectious".
Come and meet some of these lovely people and see if you know what they are doing. See some things we saw:

And in the end, you realize where the phrase "rough as a corn cob" came from :)

Side note: If you haven't checked out the Landmark Park photo tour series, feel free to do so.

This is FEATURED in Artistic Therapy . . . It was definitely a JOY to SEE this!
HUGS ~
Your Friend,
Rene
Rene ~ Thank you. I'm honored :) I have been pretty busy....more enjoying the outdoors than anything else. Missed you too and will try to catch up in the group(s) soon.
Magi ~ As always, I thank you for gracing my pages. It just seemed right to utilize the B&W and sepia aspects on these. The whole experience was entertaining, as well as educational. I plan to take the twins next year.
Nana ~ Thank you for the compliment! I am so glad you enjoyed this. I need to catch up on your pages!
Marie Pinschmidt
Brenda ~ Thanks for coming by for a peek. It was great experiencing this. You should have heard the guy playing the bagpipes. He was wonderful!
Jai ~ I am so glad you decided to come along on the time travel. It is always nice to have you stop by. Thank you :)
Tracy ~ It worked best with this group. They also had a wonderful display of quilts from the 1800s. They were in fantastic shape, but I did not want to put them in this one because they need to be seen in color! Thanks!
Cassandra ~ I'm glad you enjoyed the trip down memory lane. Thanks for coming along.
Carmel ~ Yes, I don't think I could get accustomed to utilizing those cobs for the intended purpose ;)
Haim ~ So good to see you. Thanks so much for coming by.
Shaunee, Cathi, & Victoria ~ Thank you three for coming by.
Stopping by from
Kelly ~ It truly was all the things you mentioned :) Thank you.
Sharon ~ Thank you!
Bob ~ I have GOT to get by your page. I need to catch up with you :) I really liked these in the sepia and B&W. It seems to make the photos "speak" more than they did in color. Thank you for coming by here and taking a look.
Thanks Nancy. I am glad you could identify most of these.
I have never been there, Mary. I would like to check that out.
Thanks.
Points Nation
Thanks, Renita. Feel free to browse as much as you want.

Thanks. You too.
Thanks, Cholette.
here from points nation.
Thanks, Heidi.
The way they had to work does look rough, doesn't it? I'm glad you liked the sepia tones.
Stopping by from
Karen~
Thank you, Karen. I really liked the sepia too.
I'm Surfing Gather, dropping by from Points Nation! ;-)
Thanks, Ginger. I could not decide between the B&W and sepia...so utilized both. It works :)

"Other people's opinion of you does not have to become your reality.
Thank you, not only for stopping by, but also for those inspiring words :)
Thanks, Charity.
Hehehehe. I'm just glad things don't "end" like that now.
Thanks, Linda. It is interesting.
:)
Hi Lynn...sorry I haven't responded sooner but I did not know all these comments were on here. I'm pretty slow about checking my older posts. Thanks for stopping by here...hope you enjoyed the others too.
I’m just stopping by to share some
I'm glad you enjoyed it, KD. Thanks for the love...
Fabulous photo essay. I love that you did it in black and whites and sepia tones. It gave even more meaning to the essay. Great job.
Renda - I'm sorry gather isn't letting me comment. So I'm piggybacking on Carol's comment.
I have to say this is one of the most enjoyable essays I've come across on gather recently.
Fabulous photos - the sepia works great for this subject.
I didn't see your corn cob notation at first and wondered what those rolled up thingies were:) LOL
Just beautiful - if I had a group I'd feature it:)
Carol ~ I'm so glad you liked the B&W and sepia tones. I thought it added to the "time period" too. Thanks so much for your kind words.
Rose ~ Ha! It is not a problem. I was having problems yesterday and hope the glitch is fixed soon. Piggyback away....
Thank you so much for the compliment. I'm glad you enjoyed this. There are more in this series. Yes, those corn cobs are something else :) Thanks again for stopping by.
Yet another great photo essay, Renda you sure have been a busy woman here lately. I don't think this fits any of my groups or I would spotlight this one as well.
Stephanie ~ I love doing these types of posts. It gives me something to do with my photos and I don't necessarily have to use a lot of words with them (just let the photos talk sometimes). Thanks so much for your kind words.
This is spotlighted in the Wednesday edition of Today On Gather
Congratulations!
Connie ~ Thank you. I am honored.
