The dresden dolls are a band made up of Amanda Palmer (piano/vocals) & Brian Viglione(drums). They are one of the few true artists that i have come across and every song/album that come up with is better than it's predicessor. Check 'em out on youtube or google 'em and see what ya can find.
they recently went on "hiatus" but they each have their own projects. Havent' followed Brians too closely but i have folloed Amanda's and her first solo album "Who killed Amanda Palmer" is AMAZING!! there is a 8 video serious she made from 8 songs from her album and you should def. give it a gander. It's beatiuful and artistically stunning.

Dresden Dolls
The best show I attended was in a movie theater and was called "F*ch the Back Row." Amanda and Brian (as special guest) played a show at one venue for the weird tour they were on with Panic at the Disco, then they took a cab to the theater and played movie tunes for a couple more hours. While they were doing the other gig, we watched videos and fan films. After the show (it ended about 2 AM) they hung around and chatted and signed autographs.
I love it when they come to town because street performers will entertain as part of the Brigade and everyone is happy being who they are. They do some amazing collaborations too! Brian drummed on some tracks of NIN's "Ghost" album, and Amanda played with the Boston Symphony!
