Americans love making fun of Canadians and their country. They say Canada is boring, quiet, slow, and what else.
But now that the United States is in financial and every other mess, many are looking at Canada and cannot believe that there are hardly any problems facing that country.
As Fareed Zakaria writes, "guess which country, alone in the industrialized world, has not faced a single bank failure, calls for bailouts or government intervention in the financial or mortgage sectors. Yup, it's Canada."
From the financial system to housing, government responsibility, immigration, and health care, Canada is doing much better than its "cool" neighbor.
Fareed Zakaria concludes that "if President Obama is looking for smart government, there is much he, and all of us, could learn from our quiet—OK, sometimes boring—neighbor to the north."

Yeah, I can't believe anybody can live north of Minneapolis (that seems as far North as you should go)
ha ha
I do remember some pretty severe fiscal crises in the Canadian national, and some of the provincial governments. Banking, and particularly insurance industries have remained strong though. It is a country worth considering in a review of national values.
Britain also makes fun of Canada.
Our Congress is too busy worrying about getting re-elected than over-seeing the banking industry... ask Chris Dodd.
Thanks for sharing on Endless Points
make fun of Canadian accents as I go aboot my hoose, eh?
We've never made fun of Canada in our household. We've been too busy making fun of California... which by the way has approximately the same population as all of Canada.
