I have just posted a bunch of video of the show at Vitello's Restaurant in Studio City, CA. last night.
Billy Vera and Lon Price, formerly of Billy and the Beaters, for the past 30 years these two have been playing the compositions of Billy, who has written for Dionne Warwick, Dolly Parton and many more.
He played a club here on the Sunset Strip I used to frequent called the Central, now Johnny Depp's Viper Room, every week during the early 80s.
When I last saw him he was a skinny kid with long hair, my how he has mellowed!
I had to chop up the recording of some of the songs, didn't want to go over the 100MB file size allowed here on Gather, but you'll get it. Great voice and Lon's sax is sooooo mellow!

I lived in Hollywood back in the early Eighties, at the Lido hotel at Wilcox and Yucca back when it had fallen into glorious shabbiness (I have no idea what it´s like now or if it still exists.) I remember the Central. As well as Simply Blues at the top of the CNN building on Sunset.
Billy music and Len´s sax are magical together. Thanks for bringing back memories of Hollywood.

I don't know if it is still there, being so close to Wilcox PD I kind of think it's former 'glory' has been usurped!
