Lake Michigan Sunset Sequence (7 photos)

Sunsets can provide an ever changing array of spectacular colors. It's probably impossible to predict exactly how environmental conditions will affect a sunset on any particular evening. Or how it may change from start to finish. Lucky are the days when you are in a location to experience the beauty of the changes.

This was one of those times to witness a spectacular sunset from our beach on the Indiana shore of Lake Michigan.

 

 There were some interesting beginnings with the blue sky above the clouds and the colors forming on the horizon.

 

 

Descending the cloud layer began to enhance to colors.

 

The clear skies on the horizon took on different shades of colors.

 

Positioning the glowing sun behind the Lighthouse. Even the water began to glow.

 

Further descent created some hints of red in the sky.

 

Just enjoying the spectacular colors.

 

The final glimpse of sky, sun and water as it appears to descend into the Lake.

 

Hope you enjoyed this unusual sunset sequence across Lake Michigan.

Thank you for the wonderful comments. While it's an easy place to get to for a summer day at the beach, I can't guarantee such a beautiful sunset every day! And I always forget to mention, my camera is a Kodak Easyshare. I love it.

Great photo essay RB. You hve to let me know how you do these? I've only figured out how to post individual photos or sideviews! I also have a Kodak Easyshare (I think it's an S710) but I love it!!
