Angela, Christopher, and I went over to our Borders for the Twilight party. We got there a little early to make sure we'd get a wristband. Once there, we found out that they weren't doing wristbands. So much for reading the directions on the web site. Then, NO CAMERAS....but very few people were dressed up. It was nothing like the Harry Potter Parties.
There was a team trivia contest...team A and team 1 (yes, I realize that it doesn't make sense). There had to be at least 50 people on each team. The winning team (us) got cheap candy thrown at them. It was a very odd trivia contest, and some of the answers were not correct. I could have done without the yelling and arguing.
There was also a poster drawing contest. The winning poster was amazing...no one else had a chance. The winner was a 20 yr. old art student (figures). Then there was the scavenger hunt...I had 3 left when a "team" of high school girls won. I figure that wasn't bad for not having any help, and the ones I had left were the ones about music. Christopher looks a mess (another story), so he just hung out in the back of the store reading books. I hung out with Angela (and not the other way around).
Most of the evening was pretty boring. There was a ballot of Twilight movie awards to fill out, but they didn't have enough ballots for everyone. Angela didn't get a ballot...and Pher won a blue water bottle just for putting his ballot in the box. We didn't find out the results to the Movie awards either.
After we got our movie (don't get me started about THAT), we stopped by WalMart on the way home. We should have gone to the party there. The movie was $4 cheaper, and the party was more a lot more fun. Everyone got little gifts, and some people won big prizes. I did splurge and let Angela get a Team Jacob t-shirt. The WalMart party had LOTS of food and drinks too...sub sandwiches, chips and salsa, chips and cheese dip, cake, etc... I actually didn't even realize WalMart was having a party until right before we left for Borders....and our Barnes and Noble didn't do anything this time.
I think next time Mike should take the kids (like that would ever happen). LOL.
