Do you know how to hunt and/or fish?

I know how to do both as well as garden. I don't have to worry about it if it comes to it. I do worry about others though.

Hunt & Fish? Yes. Cleaning the animals ... I'm going to have to start relearning that. To much time spent on party boats recently where the crew does that job for me.

I know how to hunt and fish, and actually do both. My boyfriend's younger brother(who is about 6 years younger than I am) is an avid hunter and fisherman and I go with him during hunting season. Between the two of us, we get enough meat(mostly venison or rabbit) to share with the rest of the family.(I don't particularly like either, but could eat it if it were a life or death situation, I'm more of a pre-packaged hamburger or ham person).

I do both, and of many different kinds. Fishing from long range ocean trips for a week or so, to fly fishing creeks and streams. Hunting I'm all set for too from birds to big game. I wouldn't go hungry if it ever came to that... ;-) Love gardening too by the way...

I don't do the hunting in the family, but I do fish. Hubby and the boys hunt and gut. I could do it if I had to. My adult nephews fish and hunt too. I think we'd be ok if we had to do it. I grew up tending to a huge garden and lots of fruit trees. Some things you just don't ever forget, you know.

Food preservation. Yes.

Animal Husnandry. Yes.

Gathering. Yes.

Firebuilding. Yes.

Primitive shelter. Yes.

Some of these I'm a little green on, but am getting better.

Yep, grew up hunting and fishing. That's what we ate! Now, my hubby and son hunt. We also fish together as a family! My daughter loves to go hunting also!

Hunt, fish, clean and cook. I can also garden, can, and preserve. I've got the basics down for survival, including water treatments for drinking water, and hope I never have to use them.

I absolutely love to fish and you are correct, the investment is minimal but can get expensive only if one wishes it to. Until a few work injuries prevented it, I'd hunt white tails with my husband. We don't have really large deer in the surrounding area but I'm proud of the ones I got. Until last year I had my husband, sons and brother beat with the rack on my last buck. Oh well, I've learned I can hunt with a camera now. But yes, we could live off the land if we had to. Planted, harvested, canned, frozen, you name it, and our own butchering of game. Great thought you have there. Who knows??

I could survive (so long as I didn't have to use a bow - shoulder surgery makes that impossible). I grew up on a farm... 4-H every year - raised chickens, steers , sheep and hogs, and I had a truck garden to care for every year. We hunted and fished, and ate what we shot, caught and killed (including carp, woodchuck and muskrat).

I can build three different kinds of primitive shelters, and I NEVER enter the woods without a heavy (and SHARP) knife, a metal tube containing matches soaked in wax and a possible bag with tinder, flint and steel and a bag of nuts.

Yeah - I'd do OK... alone.
