Barack Obama appeared on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and the big story isn't about his thoughts on the economy, as one would expect. Instead, it's about a comment that Obama made concerning the Special Olympics. (See video below.)
When Jay Leno asked the President about his bowling skills, Obama replied they were "like Special Olympics, or something."
Rush Limbaugh is going to have a field day with this one.
Immediately after the show, while on Air Force One, Obama called Tim Shriver, chairman of the Special Olympics, to apologize about his comment before the Tonight Show with Jay Leno aired.
Comparing your athletic skills to the Special Olympics is insensitive. But can we all get a free pass for slipping up now and again, especially when the comment wasn't intentionally said to hurt a specific group of people?
What do you think? Are you angry with Obama? Do you forgive him? Or do you think it wasn't even that big of a deal in the first place?
