I recently received the Pledge Fabric Sweeper for Pet Hair in a recent Bzz campaign and was thrilled to try it since we have two dogs who shed quite a bit. Well, the package that I received was excellent. It consisted of the fabric sweeper, Pledge Multi-Surface cleaner, the Bzz booklet, and coupons for my friends.
Here's my take on the fabric sweeper. I tried the product on a couple of different surface, stair carpeting and pillows. I'll admit that I had marginally better luck with the pillows, but not stellar luck. The stairs appeared to be only halfheartedly cleaned after I attacked them with the sweeper. I will say that part of the problem with the sweeper may be the surfaces I decided to sweep. A cloth couch may have been a lot more effective, or maybe cat fur is easier to clean up than my dogs' fur.
The Pledge Fabric Sweeper should last approximately 3-5 weeks with daily use and should pick up approximately 145 sticky lint roller sheets worth of pet hair. That's a lot of hair!
You can see in the before and after photos that the sweeper definitely did pick up some hair, but my vacuum is a lot more effective.
Since we have a leather couch, I was unable to try the sweeper on the couch. I was thinking that it might be good to try in my car since I have cloth seats.
The sweeper is easy to use and doesn't need to be emptied. It's disposable. When the rollers fill up, you just do a quick "sweep" on a clean area to remove the debris.
I told a few of my friends about the product and did give away some coupons. I even sent one to a Las Vegas friend who has a cat and is hopeful that this product will be effective in cleaning up the massive amounts of fur shed by her cat.
