I don't mind Gather Trolls but . . .

Come on, guys.   I get one view and a rating of 1.  That's tough.  The article I refer to is an article on how I don't like Glenn Beck Newsletter.  I think the trolls don't read the article, they just attack.  I'm pretty sure who they are, but I don't play the game.  If someone has nothing better to do than rate me a one, I appreciate it.  I get points for the views, and they get to struggle with the stupid rating pull down screen.  Although I think, it's less aggravating to give a one than a ten, I just thought I'd let them know how much I appreciate their trolling.  In fact, if I were as petty as they are, I'd do the same to all my liberal friends, but I'm too busy being The Humble Queen of La La Land.

You know, whether they rate you a 1 or a 10, you still get points, I have come to the conclusion its better to leave the ratings on, I know there are people out there that will say they are going ot ignore me, but yet they continue to make really stupid remarks knowing I don't read them and delet them.

I love trolls, last I checked they trolled two of my images, now I had first and second in the most viewed until one aged out. But I got a screen shot I plan on posting in a bit :) so I tell them troll away A_s Clowns!

I've had some DB1s and wondered why. I don't think it's right to low rate a posting just because I disagree with the writer's opinion. If it's well written and makes a clear point, it deserves a good rating. Ratings are for quality, not agreement, I think. I have rated a posting 10 and left a comment disagreeing with the view. If I really can't give a good rating, I don't rate at all. I gave you 10.

I have seen many articles rated a 1 with no comments. You always have the option of turning ratings off if it bothers you this much.

And calling attention to it feeds the people or person doing it.

Just look at it this way... Anyone we meet in cyber space is just pretend anyway.. We dont really know if the other is telling the truth of who they say they are etc.... Its just a game...

I would never turn off my ratings on a regular basis. I do so occasionally just to annoy the trolls. I never delete comments either. This is too much fun.

I saw one guy write a post saying that he was going to give out ones because of the economy. I told him that wasn't very smart just to give people ones just because the economy tanked.

Carol I normally am not a troll lover but the little troll you posted the pic of is the cutest one I have seen lately. It reminds me of one I used to have on my key chain many years ago. If you put it in between your palms and rubbed them together it's hair would get all floofed out.

I always give 10 ratings unless the post is nothing like the title. Then I just leave.

What difference does the rating make? Does it affect points?

NO low ratings do not affect points. They are just an ego booster to the trolls to happily going around trying to hurt people. I have been slammed several times by the myself.

we all have been hit by the trolls....who cares...sometimes i read content that is just not good! I rarely rate anyones work, but I will comment if I like it, if i dont, I dont leave a negative comment! I am not here to give anyone advice on how to write, nor boost ego's with 10's. If you write from your heart and its how you feel, a troll giving me a low rating, OR A FELLOW GATHERER who doesn't care for my work and gives me a low rating, like I said..who cares. It doesn't change how I felt when I wrote the post. I dont do this for anyone elses opinions. 10's are given way way too easily here on gather.
