Just A Minute With You (Poem)

(Note: This was written / inspired because of Natasha Richardson's untimely death and because I kept thinking of what Liam Neeson must be feeling at this time. I'm not sure why I was so impacted by this or the two of them but I couldn't shake it until I wrote this. I hope you will appreciate it, even if it is painful).

Just A Minute With You

It was only yesterday

When your smile lit my life

And your eyes told the story

Our hearts shared together

In the blink of an eye

The sound of your voice,

The touch of your hand,

Were taken from me

So suddenly, you’re gone

And the life that we shared

Seems so real to me

Like a wave of the sea

I still can’t believe

Our time here is over –

I can’t say goodbye –

I can’t hold you close

My heart won’t let go

Of the one I so cherish

It doesn’t seem real

I want to go back

Let me look in your eyes

Just one more glimpse

Let me hear that sweet voice

Let it play in my ears

All I want is a day

Even so, just an hour

A minute will do

Just a minute with you

I certainly understand the sentiment behind this poem. A tragic accident doubled in pain for her loved ones and fans because she was supposedly okay and them BAM. She's gone.
