Learning Italian

I had some glitches with the program last week, however everything is fixed now.   Before the tech staff at             helped me, I thought that maybe by un-installling and re-installing I could fix it.  It didn't fix it and I had to start all over because it didn't save my progress either.

I have been coming along very nicely though.

The hardest part for me is getting aquaintted with gender specific words. There are also a few grammerical rules too that I have to get used to.  Like a "c" that is followed by a "i" or an "e" has a "ch" sound.  And words that have a "ch" have a "k" sound.  I will get the hang of it eventually (I hope!).

I learned Italian in college and I find it a fun language. The only problem I had is that I often mixed it up with Spanish, especially when I was out of class.

My grandfather loved it when people spoke Italian to him. He always wanted his grandchildren to learn, and there were some words he would always say to us, that will always be engrained in my brain. I wish very much to go to Italy some day.

Why are so many people learning Italian these days? Is it a new trend? It used to be that people wanted to learn french. I don't know if I am young enough to learn another language... I would like to try if possible.

You can do it. It's a beautiful language once you learn it. And it's pretty easy to catch on after a while. :)

I didn't know there were a lot of people wanting to learn Italian.

As for me, I wanted to learn a second language and since my heritage is Italian it is what I wanted to learn.

I'm 48, and I don't think I'm too old.
