Exciting news. Gather has three authors who have been chosen as one of 500 quarterfinalists out of more than 5000 entries in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. Sheila Deeth and Jamie C. and me. (If there are more, please write one of us to let us know.
We need our GATHER friends/readers to go online, download the FREE excerpt and leave their comments, the sooner the better (there’s an early April deadline). Here’s the hyperlink to my novel CATCHER, CAUGHT about a 15 year old boy with leukemia.

You highlight the link and right click and it takes you to the free download page. I think you have to be an Amazon customer or have an Amazon account (login, etc) BUT in order to move from 500 to the semi-final round of 100 novels, the comments are what propels the book.
ALSO, if you can send the hyperlink to any and all friends and ask them to go and read the excerpt, it would be wonderful. A ground swell of support for Gather friends, the strength of network. Hoorah. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Sarah (Sally)

Product Description
Ever wonder how Holden Caulfield from Catcher in the Rye would fare in today's teenage world of sex, drugs, and lost identities? Since 1945 Holden's been haunting high school English classes and the bookshelves of baby boomers who worried with Holden as he struggled to find himself and to define what was important. Daniel Landon in CATCHER, CAUGHT admires Holden's candor. In Daniel's own struggle to define himself in the face of leukemia, he bonds with Holden, using his new friend to bounce off ideas and to assist Daniel in his own search for identity as he faces death. Because Daniel must also learn how to separate himself from parents who insist they know best how to treat the disease, Daniel follows Holden to NYC in search of the same eternal truths, only to discover the importance of home when death looms. A coming of age story, a love story, a new classic, CATCHER, CAUGHT will engage the imagination of more than one generation, searching for lasting values.

I have a couple of other gather friends in the finals:
Cathy M with a post-apocolyptic romance The Raider's Wife
and
Sherrie Super with a humorous mystery Illegal Fortunes
Thanks for doing this Sarah. You are awesome. I'm heading over to download yours and Sheila's entries now!
