Well it's hard to see that he would have cooked up an idea like that, but still him backing something like that is completely ridiculous. I mean if he wants his administration to be the one that brings back the draft, then go for it. I can't see anyone jumping up and down to enlist if they aren't going to be taken care of for whatever injuries or illnesses they get. And you cant just say, well it saves money, and then it's ok.

Isn't that adding insult to injury? My God!! What is the goverment thinking? The miliatary won't have private insurance that will pay for any injuries. All the vets would fall under the 'previous condition claus' so the insurance companies could get out of paying anything.

The update from last night was that Obama had withdrawn the plan after getting a full court press from the various veterans organizations and who knows how many concerned American citizens. Of course, now the Obamabots will claim it was never on the table and was just a Fox News creation.

Incidentally, I got all of my news on this issue from CNN.

I am glad to hear he withdrew the plan. It's a horrible idea. I know people who are 100% service connected with disabilities from their service to our country. Without the federal government, they would not have any source of income at all. That would be so wrong.

That is a horrible thing to try and do to our veterens.  I mean the selflessly serve our country and should not have to pay for their health care after being wounded  (mentaly or physically) in battle.  I sure hope that this does not go through though.
