This afternoon I went to the grocery store, as our fridge was almost empty and we were out of many essentials. I love to go to Publix, because if I play my cards right I can usually get out of there with great grocery savings. I had the list planned out, but I knew it was going to be expensive. I usually spend right around 50 dollars a week for a family of four, but since I only spent 34 dollars last week, I did have a bit of room left over this week.
I ended up spending $84.61, and I saved $70.41, so it was not a 50 percent savings as I would like it to be.
My best deals were:
2 Lysol Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner on BOGO at $2.69 for 2 - $ 2 in coupons = $.69 cents or 35 cents each.
2 Lysol All Purpose Cleaners on BOGO at $2.69 for 2 - $1.40 in coupons = $1.29 or 65 cents each.
6 Danactive yogurt drinks 4 packs at 2 each = $12 - $6 = $6 or $1 per four pack.
Kellogs Frosted Flakes on sale at $1.99 - $.70 in coupons = $1.29
Kellogs Frosted Flakes on sale at $1.99 - $.70 in coupons = $1.29
Publix gallon Florida orange juice $2.49
Publix gallon Florida orange juice $2.49
Cantaloupe on sale for $1.50
I got beef roasts at 2.19/lb, so I spent about 15 dollars on beef, and split it up, when we got home.
I had a free coupon for a Thai Kitchen product, so I got a peanut Thai noodle dish for $0

The biggest splurges today was on fresh fruit and veggies.
3 lbs of Florida strawberries for $5
3 lbs of Florida oranges for $3
I also bought Breyers ice cream on bogo sale at 2 for $5.77
Breyers 10 pcks strawberry fruit bars fr 3.39 - a .75 coupon = $2.64
Added together with the 16 dollars I spent at CVS yesterday the total for this week actually ended up at $100.61, which is almost twice as much as I would like to spend, but as long as my monthly total is under $300 I am still within my household budget.
Did you get any good deals at the grocery store lately? Which grocery store is your favorite and why?

I need to post my deals this week, I did very good at Publix and Walmart.
I go shopping at Stop and Shop in Plymouth Ma,
We are getting gipped.
I wish I could do the same.
BTW you did awsome again
Dagmara, it really depends on the store and the cashier. In my old Publix, I sometimes had a problem with doing so, but there were two cashiers, who never gave me an issue with it, so I made sure to go to them.
In my new Publix, which is bigger I have not had any problems at all..., and the one I went to today did not give me any problems either.
Give it a shot, and if they give you a problem ask if you can talk to the manager about it.
I'm glad to see you're within a similar budget for groceries as me. Everyone's amazed that I can feed my family of 3 for about $150/month and that's usually with diapers, wipes and cleaning supplies.
I went Saturday for some groceries and they had cantaloupe for $1 and another great buy was their split chicken breast. It was on sale for $0.99 lb in the ad, but since we went the last day of the sale, and they still has a lot of fresh chicken in the back, they had marked it down to $0.59 lb
