Well it's finally here. Tomorrow is our one day trip to Disneyland. I'm really excited and a little nervous all at the same time. A little nervous because it's the first time I'm taking the kids plus my bestfriend/roommate and her daughter (who does not live with us) is going.
Her daughter is a wild card. She's 12 and I don't think she's done a lot of kid activities in the last few years. I mean, her dad and Step Mom will take her out of town when they have something going on and they'll let her go on school trips but as far as other kid things, I don't think so.
One of her friends told her that Magic Mountain was the same as Disneyland and why would you go all that way to Disney when you can go to Magic Mountain. In my mind, there is no comparison between Disneyland and Magic Mountain.
She also wanted to know if there were going to be rides for her age and not all kid rides. Heck, I've been to Disneyland as an adult (6 years ago) and as a kid and as an adult I loved all the rides even the ones that were supposedly more only for kids. The rides are fun. You get to be inside a story on some of them and I just love it.
So anyway, I'm a bit nervous about her but I can't wait to show my own kids the magic of Disneyland.
When I was a kid we had a tradition of when we went, we'd wear a Disney shirt. We're going to still do that. I had to buy a couple of shirts yesterday that had Disney stuff on it but we're all set!
So we'll be leaving at 5 AM in the morning and coming back late.

I've never been to Disneyland, but I know that my kids don't care for the Magic Kingdom at Disney World, because they are too old. They like Animal Kingdom, MGM, and Epcot so much better.
I'm sure you will want to see Mickey & Minnie, the best way to do this is to take the train to Mickey's Toon Town & go to Mickey's House. If you wait until late in the afternoon then it is too late & they close the house.
