I started this Tuesday, but found it very time consuming to send private invites - it took an hour to send out less than 200 to my connections. I am now a certified credit report reviewer. And, am going to share information regarding how-to's regarding credit report information. This will be a private group, and only for those interested in working on increasing their credit scores and values. Good luck and I am proud to be able to help those interested. If you are interested in joining, please ask me below in the comment section, zip an email or a ping as I do not want to intrude on people who aren't interested. It probably will be a small group, but that is okay. If I help one person, then I feel I've done a service.
The next section I'll be studying is Financial and Housing Counseling - how to budget, save money, tax tips, retirements, etc.

I have completed the first section of courses in my endeavor to become an Accredited Financial and Housing Counselor - and am now a Certified Credit Report Reviewer through the Institute for Financial Education.
There are many facets involved in credit. Although I have been living and breathing credit reviews for 12 years, there are some new things I'd like to pass along to my GatherFriends. All of this information can be found at no charge, if one researches. But, who has the time to do that with all of our busy lives?
The first thing I want to share is the annual free credit report information. I am sure many of you already know you are entitled to a free annual credit report from the three big boys - Transunion, Equifax, and Experian.
To order, click on www.annualcreditreport.com, or call 877-322-8228, or complete the Annual Credit Report Request Form, which can be printed from www.ftc.gov/credit. Mail the printed request to:

However, did you know there are more reporting agencies that have records pertaining to your personal life? Below are the websites you can retrieve information from. It is rather interesting that we have so much personal information that is being reported about us - and we don't know about it, unless we investigage on our own.
Check out the websites, and know what others know about you and your life's history.
The OTHER free annual report is one prepared by a "nationwide specialty consumer reporting agency" relating to medical records or payments, residential or tenant history, or employment history, check writing history, and insurance claims, for example. Consumers may request free "Specialty" consumer reports.
Medical records or payments: MIB - Medical Information Bureau Report. http://www.mib.com/html/request_your_record.html
Residential or tenant history. (UDR=Unlawful Detainer Registry. http://www.udregistry.com
Employment history. Background checks provided by ChoicePoint. http://www.choicepoint.com
Insurance claims. CLUE - Comprehensive Loss Underwriting Exchange. http://www.choicetrust.com

Good luck and remember, a lack of action is an action - therefore it is our responsiblity to investigate information on file about us.
