Being pregnant means my mood is ever changing. I am now in my 2nd trimester and 25 weeks pregnant so things are looking up it seems. At least my pregnancy hormones aren't wreaking havoc on my emotions and my body anymore! They were really bad for awhile.
I suspect things are also improving because we are experiencing some pretty exciting times these days. For instance, we are signing the paperwork to buy our first home in less than two weeks! Who wouldn't be happy about that?
We are getting the house just in time too! Our little one (also our first) is due this summer but we'll be in the house a month before I head off to deliver baby so that is awesome. I've always wanted to be in a home of our own before we had kids, now I am getting my wish.
Things aren't all roses though, I just try to focus on and emphasize the positive.
For starters we are living 1800 miles away from everyone we know and love. This means no baby shower and no house warming for us. We are literally going this all alone and it stinks because we had always figured we could share these exciting "firsts" more closely with family.
Also, we are locked in to a rental lease agreement until September 1st that is bad news! The rental home has major leaks and has mold, the landlords are unresponsive and have just ignored all our correspondences.
We are trying to get out of this lease on May 1st since we are buying a place that we'll have possession of April 1st but that doesn't look like it is going to be as easy as it should be.
Then there is the economy that just kind of brings you down because so many are suffering and times are so tough. Basically there is plenty to be worried or sad about for us but we insist on dwelling on the good and shrugging off the bad.
I've also found that laughing off the bad stuff helps too. I wrote this post to try making light of all the landlord drama we've been having. It helped!
All in all my mood is good today, it takes work but I've been able to keep a positive outlook. Happiness is all about how we perceive things so altering perception is key.
